• 2012-2013 Dance Team Tryouts are approaching! We are looking for strong dynamic dancers for our 2012-13 performing season! Auditions are April 18th, 19th, and 20th. Tryout packets are available in main office.
• Congratulations to the Mira Costa Badminton team for winning this past weekend’s Badminton tournament. Mira Costa competed against Long Beach Poly High School and Long Beach Millikan High School. #1 Mira Costa = 64 points #2 LB Poly = 28 points & #3 LB Millikan = 18 points
• Tryouts for the Cheer & Song Squads will be held Monday, April 16th- Thursday, April 19th in the Cafeteria. A mandatory Tryout Meeting will be held Wednesday, April 11th. At least one parent/guardian and the interested candidate must be in attendance. We will review the Tryout Process, Program Guidelines & Expectations, as well as answer questions. This will be the ONLY tryout for the 2012-2013 Cheer & Song Squads. Tryout Packets are available for pick up in the Main Office as well as online at www.mchspepsquad.com
• Make sure to check the 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament Bracket in front of the ASB room, Room 40. Games will be held in the gym during lunch.
• Attention all Girls Basketball Players: The Girls Basketball program will be holding a tryout for girls who are interested in participating in Spring Basketball who: - Played this past season 2011-12
- Have played on either the Frosh/Soph, Junior Varsity and/or Varsity teams in the past.
Spring Basketball is March 26th - June 22nd. There will be another tryout in June for Summer Basketball and a tryout in September for the 2012-13 Season. Tryout: TODAY, 6:00-8:00pm at Manhattan Beach Middle School. If you have any questions please contact Coach Miranda Biteler at [email protected].
• Pride Day which was originally scheduled for Saturday, March 17th has been rescheduled to Saturday, March 24th, 9am – 12pm.
• Extra! Extra! Creative Writing is being offered this summer. Sign up for Summer School and enjoy creating the ordinary into the extraordinary.
• Come to the library to see the new display of outstanding student photography projects. These photos are the top projects from Ms. Schoenemann’s photography classes that are being submitted to the Californiastreaming.org annual photography contest.”
• This year Reflections Club is holding cover design contest. Turn in any black/white submission to Room 18 or email to [email protected]. Winner will receive a $25 gift card to Pages Book Store!
• Juniors: Catalyst Test Prep is offering an ACT bootcamp at MCHS on Saturday, 3/24 and Sunday, 3/25. Info flyer is available in the CCC.

• Come to Ronald McDonald House Club in Mr. Chow’s room, Room 3 on Thursday during lunch. We will be making birthdays in a box, so bring party supplies!
• Animal Rights Club is collecting towels for donation to the Carson Animal Shelter. Drop off donations in the box in the Admin. Office, Room 43 or Room 46. Donations accepted thru 4/13.

• El Camino and Santa Monica Community Colleges are offering several scholarships to MCHS seniors with a min GPA of 3.0. Please come to the CCC for more information.
• Applications for Senior Graduation and Recognition speeches are available in the Guidance Office. They are due to Mrs. Lee-Iwai on March 30th.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• PJ Test Prep is offering a free SAT or ACT test and tips seminar Saturday, April 7th. Register at www.pjtestprep.com or come to the CCC for more info.
