STUDENT INFORMATION
• 2nd semester students that have an excused 1st, 5th or 6th period or surf team on their schedule, need to come to the Guidance Office to get a new GREEN “Off Grounds Sticker” placed on their student ID card. Off –Grounds stickers will be issued before 1st period, at snack, at lunch or after school only. Please do not come during class time. If you are stopped by the police off campus without the Off Grounds sticker on your student ID card, you may be subject to a truancy citation.
• Home room listed on schedule is for STAR testing purposes only DO NOT REPORT TO HOMEROOM UNTIL STAR TESTING BEGINS IN MAY.
• Students: any schedule change questions must be directed to counselors at start of the period in question.
• Hey everyone don’t miss out on Costa’s X Factor this Thursday in the auditorium at 7 pm. $3.00 w/ ASB marker, $4.00 w/out ASB marker, $5.00 at the door.
• Richstone club meeting Wednesday! This meeting is extremely important so make sure to be on time!
• Mr. Fish’s 1st semester Noir Class. We will meet Thurs. + Fri. at lunch in Room 220 to read your finals. Bring your lunches and your laughs. They are hysterical. Alex Sullivan is our STAR!
• AP Students: Don’t forget to sign up to register to take your AP exams TODAY at lunch only at the student store. Please bring your worksheets filled out and a pen to complete the official registration form. Checks ($92.00 for each exam) should be made payable to Mira Costa High.
• Textbook information: Students in semester classes are reminded that all books from the Fall Semester are subject to a $5.00 late. Please return them to the library as soon as possible. Also please note that students must have their IDs and no outstanding late books to check out books for the new semester.
• Any student interested in taking the American Math Competition Test (AMC10 OR AMC 12) sign up in Room 59 this week at lunch. The test is Feb. 7th.
• Last chance for the SAT SAVVY Sign-ups for the March test. Remember if you sign up for one session you can go the other sessions for free! First class starts Feb. 4th, so hurry to Room 18 or 50 for more info.
CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS
• Come invest some of your time on Wednesday at lunch with the Investors club in Room 225. No investment experience needed.
• TOO Many Bunnies Club Wednesday in Room 17 at lunch. All welcome!
• Don’t be a Manatee, join Habitat for Humanity! Room 20 at lunch.
• Japan 2012 meeting on Wednesday at lunch in Room 47. Arigato!
• TLC: The Library Club meets during lunch TODAY in the library workroom. All students are welcome
SPORTS
• TONIGHT is ‘Senior Night” for boy soccer players. We play Redondo at 6:00 pm. Come out and support us!

• Attn: Juniors: Catalyst is holding a SAT Boot camp at MCHS on Saturday, March 3rd and Sunday, March 4th from 9am -1pm both days, to prepare students for the March 10th SAT. • The delivery of the Palos Peninsula Directory to 25,000 Peninsula residents is Community Helpline’s largest annual fundraiser. We are seeking 450 volunteers to join us for a morning of fun, food, fresh air and community service to help raise funds for Community Helpline’s confidential listening, crisis and referral hotline.
