• Spirit Week to honor Winter Sports next week! Wednesday: NFL & NCAA gear! Thursday: Class Colors! Friday: Stampede Green & Gold! Class color competitions all week at lunch and pep rally on Friday! Don’t miss out!
• The Mira Costa Library welcomes author Andrea Cremer TODAY during Period 6. She will be talking about her popular book series Nightshade and her writing craft and will be signing books after her talk. Space is still available for students or classes who would like to attend.
• Talent Show audition packets are now available in Room 43. Please turn in the audition packet and set up an appointment time TODAY, January 13th.
• Save a Bottle! Save the World! Bring your used plastic bottles to the student store at lunch every day this week!
• Young Naturalist Awards 2012 is a research-based science contest for students sponsored by the American Museum of Natural History. This is a chance to demonstrate your knowledge of “Scientific Inquiry”. The deadline for research essays is March 9, 2012. More info in room 76.
• It’s time for the Neptunian Woman’s Club Art and Photo Contest! Entry forms are available in the admin. office, or from your Art or Photo teacher. There will be two themes this year: 1) Open Theme and 2) Manhattan Beach 100 Years Celebration. Deadline to turn in entries is Friday, March 9, 2012. Good luck to everyone!
• Attention Students: We are ready to go school wide with providing you the ability to print on campus.
1. The printer is accessed by sending a .doc or .pdf file to [email protected]
2. Students may pick up work between 7:30-8:00 at the counter in the copy room, or at the Student Store during lunch only.
3. The cost for print jobs is 10 cents per side for the copies.
4. Students need to put their name and student ID number in the subject line of the email.
5. Unclaimed print jobs will be charged to the student’s account in ASB.
We will be closely monitoring the impact of this system on the copy room, to include how it impacts teacher usage. We will make necessary adjustments as we go to ensure that both students and teachers have the best possible copier experience.

• Chili’s fundraiser this Sunday, January15th for the Too Many Bunnies Club. Have a nice dinner at Chili’s and show some support for the bunnies! Chili’s located by the Village Mall.

• “Financial Aid Presentation Tuesday, January 17th at 7pm in the MCHS Auditorium. Jessica Medina, Assistant Director of Financial Aid at USC will be giving a detailed presentation on the FAFSA, the Free Application For Federal Student Aid. Seniors must complete the FAFSA by March 2 in order to receive financial aid. She will also discuss the CSS Profile, required by many private colleges.”
