STUDENT INFORMATION
• REMINDER STUDENTS: The attendance office will not sign you out if you are sick! You need to go to the Health Office FIRST to get signed out.
• Freshmen tryouts will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13th @ 4:30 in the main gym for any freshmen interested in playing Boy’s Volley ball this spring. Any questions, see Mr. Ninnis in Room 52.
• Come join the Mira Costa Choirs in their Winter Concert “This Shining Night” on Wednesday, Dec. 14th at 7:00 pm. The concert is Free and features music for Carnegie Hall! Come join us.
• Do you love to write poetry or short stories? Have a passion for photography, painting or drawing? Submit your work to Reflections Literary magazine and showcase your talents. Please e-mail your submissions to [email protected] or drop them off at Room 18.
• From the library: Families of students on free lunches who live in an area served by Comcast qualify for reduced price Internet service ($9.95 per month), a low cost computer ($149), and free training. For information, visit InternetEssentials.com, call 855-8-INTERNET, or visit the Mira Costa Library for an information brochure.
• Come down to the Tennis Courts at lunch to watch the Dodgeball tournament thru 12/16.
• Students: Bulletin notice requests must be turned in to the admin. office by 11:30 am the day before you want it posted to the bulletin and read.
• Wednesday, December 14th is a Double Late Start Schedule, zero period does not meet.
• If you are interested in exploring Mayan ruins, the Belizian rainforest, and the worlds 2nd largest barrier reef, come to an information meeting in Room 123 at lunch on Tuesday, Dec. 13th.
• Attention Chemistry students: If you have a Chemistry book with missing pages or a broken binding, be sure to bring it to the library as soon as possible to trade it for a new book. Teachers with Chemistry books with bad bindings are also asked to return them to the library for a new copy. Thank you.

SPORTS
• Boys Volleyball- There is a MANDATORY meeting for ALL boys volleyball players on Wednesday, Dec. 14th in Room 52 at lunch. Please be prompt.
SENIORS
• All seniors need to log onto their Naviance account and input the list of colleges they are applying to. Please do this before Winter Break! If you have any questions or need detailed instructions, please come to the CCC.
• Attn. SENIORS: Colleges MUST receive official SAT and ACT Test scores directly from Collegeboard or ACT. Self-reporting scores on the application is not sufficient to meet this requirement.
• Students who have applied to the Cal States must read their emails from the colleges and check their web accounts carefully. Many Cal States are asking for official transcripts with Dec and/or Jan deadlines. It is the students’ responsibility to make sure these transcripts are sent and received in a timely manner.
• Santa Monica CC and El Camino CC Application Info:
The application is open for Santa Monica College fall applicants. Students considering attending SMCC in the fall should apply ASAP.
The application for El Camino Community College will be open on January 12th.
Students planning on attending a Community College in the fall should apply as soon as applications become available. Students submitting their applications early will receive an earlier registration date.

• All graduating seniors are invited to complete a Scholarship Notebook. Notebooks will be reviewed by various local scholarship committees. Any student who wants to complete a Scholarship Notebook MUST come to one of the following three informational meetings in the CCC during lunch on January 5, 10 or 18. Notebooks will be due February 29th.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• PJ Test Prep is offering a free practice ACT or SAT, Sat., Jan 7th 10am- 2pm with a strategy review session on Sun, Jan 8th 6:30pm – 8pm. RSVP at www.pjtestprep.com spots are limited.
• December 13 - PLAN distribution during nutrition and lunch in the CCC.
• December 15 - PSAT distribution during nutrition and lunch in the CCC.
FACULTY
