STUDENT INFORMATION
• REMINDER STUDENTS: The attendance office will not sign you out if you are sick! You need to go to the Health Office FIRST to get signed out.
• Come pick up an application to compete in the national recitation competition “Poetry Out Loud” in Room 34. Applications are due Friday, December 16th!
• Freshmen tryouts will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13th @ 4:30 in the main gym for any freshmen interested in playing Boy’s Volley ball this spring. Any questions, see Mr. Ninnis in Room 52.
• Come join the Mira Costa Choirs in their Winter Concert “This Shining Night” on Wednesday, Dec. 14th at 7:00 pm. The concert is Free and features music for Carnegie Hall! Come join us.
• So Cal Roc applications are available in the Counselors’ Office and Career Center:

• The Manhattan Beach Centennial Committee needs volunteers for Sunday’s fireworks. Go to mb100.org to sign up to volunteer.
• Shades of Winter Art Show at the Redondo Beach Teen Center from 7-9 pm.

CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS
• Do you love to write poetry or short stories? Have a passion for photography, painting or drawing? Submit your work to Reflections Literary magazine and showcase your talents. Please e-mail your submissions to [email protected] or drop them off at Room 18.
• Come support Invisible Children’s Club at “Dance Away the LRA” this Friday night at 7pm at Manhattan Beach country club.
• Cooking Club is meeting in Room 5 during lunch TODAY. This week’s theme is desserts!
• Outdoor Club will be meeting TODAY in the CCC.

SPORTS
SENIORS
• All seniors need to log onto their Naviance account and input the list of colleges they are applying to. Please do this before Winter Break! If you have any questions or need detailed instructions, please come to the CCC.
• Attn. SENIORS: Colleges MUST receive official SAT and ACT Test scores directly from Collegeboard or ACT. Self-reporting scores on the application is not sufficient to meet this requirement.
• Students who have applied to the Cal States must read their emails from the colleges and check their web accounts carefully. Many Cal States are asking for official transcripts with Dec and/or Jan deadlines. It is the students’ responsibility to make sure these transcripts are sent and received in a timely manner.
• Santa Monica CC and El Camino CC Application Info:
The application is open for Santa Monica College fall applicants. Students considering attending SMCC in the fall should apply ASAP.
The application for El Camino Community College will be open on January 12th.
Students planning on attending a Community College in the fall should apply as soon as applications become available. Students submitting their applications early will receive an earlier registration date.
