STUDENT INFORMATION
• Football CIF tickets advance sale: Tickets for Friday’s CIF game at Oaks Christian will be on sale TODAY, Thur., Fri. at snack in the student store. Adult tickets are $8.00, student/child tickets are $5.00. Payment by cash or check accepted. Please make check payable to MCHS Athletics. Advance tickets are limited, more tickets will be available at the gate.
• The Reflections contest is on. This is an art competition with the theme, “Diversity Means. . . “. The categories include literature, musical composition, photography, visual arts, dance and film. This should be students’ work and may be turned into the office by November 17th. Forms and information are in the office.
• Interested in being in the yearbook? If you are going anywhere or doing anything interesting over the Thanksgiving break, contact the yearbook staff at [email protected].
• Attention all poetry lovers: Mira Costa is pleased to announce its first time participating in the nationwide competition, Poetry Our Loud! The competition will be held January 11th at 7:30 pm in Room 1. Contestants must memorize and perform two poems selected from the official Poetry Out Loud online anthology. Visit poetryoutloud.org or see your English teacher for more details. Visit Ms. Sieker in Room 34 to sign up for the competition by Friday, December 16th.
• Lip Sync tickets on sale TODAY at lunch! $4.00 Pre Sale, $5.00 at the door! Show is Thursday in the auditorium @ 7pm. You don’t want to miss it!

SENIORS
• Senior ADS- seniors can find the senior ads form on the Costa website. Ads turned in by November 18th receive 15% off. Ads can be turned into the box in the office.
• Jostens will be here taking orders for Graduation Announcements and Cap & Gown TODAY, Nov. 16th- during snack/lunch in front of the student store. Extra information graduation packets are available in the main office.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
College Visits in The CCC:
University of Colorado, Colorado Springs: Thursday, November 17th - Period 1
Santa Monica College: Friday, November 18th – Period 1
Sign up for college visits on Naviance. Students must get permission from their teacher to attend visits.
• High School College Workshop at USC- The Next Generation Committee, in association with the Black Student Assembly and the Latino Assembly, is hosting a High School College Workshop on Saturday, November 19, 20011 from 10am to 3pm. The event is aimed at assisting underrepresented students with their college applications. This event is free and students will be provided with lunch. In order to attend, students must RSVP using the link found on the website, USCBSA.com. Students are welcome to attend whether or not they intend to apply to USC.
• University of Dayton is looking for candidates for their Leadership Service Scholarship. Please see Mrs. Folkman in the CCC if you are applying to the University of Dayton and would like to be considered for this scholarship.
• Soroptomist Scholarship Opportunity for Young Women Ages 14 – 17- Come to the CCC for information regarding this scholarship application for girls with strong community service. Deadline is Dec. 1.
