STUDENT INFORMATION

• The Reflections contest is on. This is an art competition with the theme, “Diversity Means. . . “. The categories include literature, musical composition, photography, visual arts, dance and film. This should be students’ work and may be turned into the office.

• Reminder: There is no school on Friday, November 11th due to Veterans Day.

• The library will be closed throughout the school day TODAY while the district conducts hearing tests. It will reopen from 3:00 to 5:00 for the after-school program each of these days. Please plan ahead and visit at other times.

• Don’t forget Mustangs that TODAY is Dippin Dot Day. Get your sweet treat afterschool by the gym for just $3.00.

• Last Weekend to see the fall production “You Can’t Take It With You”, TODAY, Nov 10th, Fri., Nov. 11th, Sat., Nov. 12th at 7:30 pm with a 2pm matinee on Sat. Tickets on sale in Room 1 for $10.00 students and $12.00 general admission. Tickets at the door are $12.00 and $15.00


CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS

• NHS Members: Don’t forget, due collection will be held TODAY at lunch in Room 32. Dues are $20.00 cash or check. Please make out checks to MCHS NHS.

• Partners for the Planet meeting TODAY in Room 206, make sure to bring money for your tree-shirts.

• Key Club meets TODAY, Nov. 10th in Mr. Uhalt’s room 123.

• Cooking Club meets TODAY in Room 5, breakfast potluck.

• Come to Girls’ League TODAY at lunch in Room 34!

• “Friendship Circle” at lunch TODAY in Room 114.

• Key Club will be meeting in Ms. Baral’s Room 61 not Mr. Uhalts room TODAY at lunch. We apologize for this last minute change.

• Invisible Children Meeting TODAY in Room 46.

• The HH club will meet in Room 407 TODAY at lunch- pizza will be served

• Cooking Club, TODAY in Room 5. There will be a breakfast potluck.

• Come to Lend a Hand Club TODAY at lunch in Room 41. All new members welcome!

SPORTS

• Last chance to try out for Boys’ Soccer is TODAY, November 10th. Meet Coach Smith in Room 26 any of these days at 3:00 pm. Be ready to play!

• All students interested in trying out for boys’ basketball: tryouts will be held Saturday, November 12 from 12:00 to 2:00 in the Main Gym. Current Varsity athletes who will be competing in CIF playoffs must email Coach Amaral directly by November 12 with their interest so another time can be arranged: [email protected]

SENIORS

• Senior ADS- seniors can find the senior ads form on the Costa website. Ads turned in by November 18th receive 15% off. Ads can be turned into the box in the office.

• Jostens will be here taking orders for Graduation Announcements and Cap & Gown on Tuesday, Nov. 15th- before school, during snack/lunch and after school till 3 outside of library, 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm inside of library.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• High School College Workshop at USC- The Next Generation Committee, in association with the Black Student Assembly and the Latino Assembly, is hosting a High School College Workshop on Saturday, November 19, 20011 from 10am to 3pm. The event is aimed at assisting underrepresented students with their college applications. This event is free and students will be provided with lunch. In order to attend, students must RSVP using the link found on the website, USCBSA.com. Students are welcome to attend whether or not they intend to apply to USC.

• Princeton Review is offering a free practice ACT tests at their Redondo Beach location on Saturday, 11/12 9AM – 1:30PM. Register online at www.princetonreview.com

• University of Dayton is looking for candidates for their Leadership Service Scholarship. Please see Mrs. Folkman in the CCC if you are applying to the University of Dayton and would like to be considered for this scholarship.

• Soroptomist Scholarship Opportunity for Young Women Ages 14 – 17- Come to the CCC for information regarding this scholarship application for girls with strong community service. Deadline is Dec. 1.

• November 14 – CCC closed.

• November 15 – Come hear Paul Kanarek from The Princeton Review put college admissions into perspective! In the Costa auditorium at 7 pm. Sponsored by MBEF.

• Students attending College Rep visits in the CCC must get permission from their teacher before missing class.
