STUDENT INFORMATION


• Seniors! Remember to turn in your Senior Best forms to the box in the quad Thursday, 11/3 and Friday 11/4!

• Juniors and Seniors! If you haven’t signed up for the blood drive, please stop by Room 43 today! The blood drive is Tuesday.

• Ideas worth spreading. Ted X Youth, designed for high school students will be on Sunday, November 20th at the Joslyn Center from 10:00 to 4:00. Come hear speakers. Tickets are free. Sign up at tedxmb.com.

• The Reflections contest is on. This is an art competition with the theme, “Diversity Means. . . “. The categories include literature, musical composition, photography, visual arts, dance and film. This should be students’ work and may be turned into the office.

• Last chance to audition for this year’s Lip Sync Contest! Sign up during lunch on Friday, November 4th. Last audition will be Tuesday, November 8th between 2:00 and 4:00 pm in the Cafeteria.

• You Can’t Take It With You, the fall play opens Friday, November 4th at 7:30 p.m. and plays November 4th, 5th, 10th, 11th, and 12th at 7:30 p.m. with a 2:00 p.m. matinee on Saturday, November 12th. Pre-sale tickets can be purchased in Room 1 for $10.00 Students and $12.00 Adults. It is very limited seating!



CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS


• Attention NHS members: There is a mandatory meeting today in the auditorium during lunch.

• Come to the Goodwill Club in Ms. Thornton’s Room 4! Elections will be held! Woohoo!

• SPORTS

• Last chance to try out for Boys’ Soccer is Monday through Thursday, November 7th through the 10th. Meet Coach Smith in Room 26 any of these days at 3:00 pm. Be ready to play!

• All students interested in trying out for boys’ basketball: tryouts will be held Saturday, November 12 from 12:00 to 2:00 in the Main Gym. Current Varsity athletes who will be competing in CIF playoffs must email Coach Amaral directly by November 12 with their interest so another time can be arranged: [email protected]


COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

• Students attending College Rep visits in the CCC must get permission from their teacher
before missing class.

• High School College Workshop at USC- The Next Generation Committee, in association with the Black Student Assembly and the Latino Assembly, is hosting a High School College Workshop on Saturday, November 19, 20011 from 10am to 3pm. The event is aimed at assisting underrepresented students with their college applications. This event is free and students will be provided with lunch. In order to attend, students must RSVP using the link found on the website, USCBSA.com. Students are welcome to attend whether or not they intend to apply to USC.

• Princeton Review is offering a free practice ACT tests at their Redondo Beach location on Saturday, 11/12 9AM – 1:30PM. Register online at www.princetonreview.com

• University of Dayton is looking for candidates for their Leadership Service Scholarship. Please see Mrs. Folkman in the CCC if you are applying to the University of Dayton and would like to be considered for this scholarship.

• Soroptomist Scholarship Opportunity for Young Women Ages 14 – 17- Come to the CCC for information regarding this scholarship application for girls with strong community service. Deadline is Dec. 1.

• There will be a senior assembly regarding graduation on Tuesday, November 8 during 2nd period in the Auditorium. Please release your seniors at 9:30 am.
