STUDENT INFORMATION

• The Admin Office and Attendance Office will be closed during lunch TODAY, 10/18

• Don’t forget to participate in our Teen Read Month activities. There’s lots of ways you can participate: - Visit our Scary Books display- Contests galore! Check out a library book and earn a chance to guess the number of candies in our candy jar and win the jar. - Also, enter the bookmark contest, poster contest, or photo contest.

• On October 19, join our Library Club and other library clubs throughout the U.S. for a virtual book club discussion of Hunger Games. Get more information about all these great activities at the library or on the Library Website: mchslibrary.org.

• Attention Students! Homecoming Spirit Week Dress Up Days are as follows: TODAY, 10/18 Twin Day Tuesday, 10/19 Wizard Wednesday, 10/20 Animal Thursday, 10/21 Stampede Friday

• Reminder to students attending Homecoming Dance. The MCHS SRDT Administrative team will randomly use the breathalyzer as students arrive for the dance.

• Students interested in learning about on the job training internships with Northrop Gruman, come sign up in counseling office- Mrs. Shortt’s office

• Reminder: In N Out luncheon TODAY, 10/18 at lunch in front of the Admin. Building. If you are on the Honor Roll from 2nd semester of last school year at Mira Costa you’ve earned an In N Out lunch. Don’t forget your ID.

• One concert, one night, three exciting groups! You are invited to attend the 4th Annual Prism Concert on Thursday, October 20th at 7:00 pm in the Mira Costa Auditorium. Please join us in a celebration of music as students come together to share their music in this very special evening. Admission is free. The concert will feature the Wind Ensemble, Vocal Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra Strings. Bring your family and friends and enjoy an evening of beautiful music. See you at the concert!
CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS

• Come Fiesta with us Salsa Style! Room 48 at lunch on Wednesday, 10/19.

• Come to Room 5 at lunch and join Team LA’s festivities. If you’re not here….then where are you?

• Come to Young Republicans’ Club TODAY at lunch in Room 18.

• Come to Red Cross Club on Wednesday in Room 73 during lunch. Everyone is welcome.

• Come to the Relay For Life Club meeting TODAY, 10/18 in Room 45. Special Surprise for new members!

• Want to join the fight against breast cancer and get down on the dance floor? Come Boogie for Boobies with girls’ league! Sign up at our meeting this Thursday in Room 34!

• No Habitat meeting TODAY. We will be holding a special meeting sometime in the near future, so start getting excited.

• Come to Latino Scholars Union meeting in Room 72 this Wednesday at lunch! New members welcome!

• Come to California Coast Club at lunch TODAY in Room 63, Mr. Coller’s room. There will be pizza, everyone is welcome.

• Come to Richstone Club, Wednesday, 10/19 during lunch in Room 18! All are welcome.

SENIORS

• Attention all Seniors: If you have not taken your senior photo, please call Ralf’s Photography at (310) 322-0069, to schedule a photo time. If you don’t schedule it by Friday, October 21st, you will not be included in the yearbook.

SPORTS

• Boys Volleyball Tryouts will be held on Monday, October 24th in the Main Gym. Freshmen will tryout from 3:00-4:30, and all other grades from 4:30-6:30. Any questions, see Mr. Ninnis in Room 52.


• Boys Golf Try-outs Wednesday 10/19, 2:30 at Chester Washington G.C. Please see Coach Timberlake (Room 202) or Coach Fauver (Room 200) to confirm your attendance by Tuesday 10/18 at 3:00 pm.

• Please excuse the Girls’ Tennis Team at 1:30 TODAY for an away match at Palos Verdes. Sorry for any inconvenience.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

• There will be a UC Application workshop in the CCC during lunch on Thursday, October 20th

• Students taking the PLAN test this Sat, October 22 should check the lists outside the main office or the library to find out their room assignment. Students must report to their assigned classroom at 7:45 am. Students should bring a photo ID, two #2 pencils and a calculator.


FACULTY
• TODAY is the In N Out lunch in front of the Admin. bldg. Do not release your kids early or they will be sent back to your class. You can come and enjoy a burger too but you have to come and get it yourself.
