STUDENT INFORMATION
• Attention all potential boy’s interested in playing basketball next season: There will be two dates for boy’s basketball tryouts. The first will be held in the gym this Thursday May 26th from 5:30-7. The second will be Tuesday May 31s from 5:30-7.
• Attentions next year’s juniors and seniors: Now is your chance to sign up for student parking next year. Come to Guidance Office before/after school or during snack or lunch to sign up. Students are not allowed to sign up for their friends.
• Don’t delay! Sign up TODAY for the UC/CSU approved Fashion Design course this summer at Mira Costa High School. Have fun while you learn about the exciting, fast-paced fashion industry. Learn how to design and sew your own fashions. Limited space- register today! If you have any questions, stop by Room 112 during nutrition and see Fashion Design instructor, Ms. Cox.
• Students: If you are in an AP class that has finished using your textbook for the year, you are welcome to return your book to the library now.
• Pick your prom forms in the ASB room, Room 40 or Room 43.
• Sign ups for this year’s Scholar Quiz will be TODAY from 7:45 am-8:00 am in front of the student store! First 64 teams only. Captains will need the GPA’s and 2nd period room numbers for each team member in order to sign up this morning.
• Model U.N. Make-up Tryouts at lunch in Room 202 TODAY and Thursday. Sign up with Mr. Timberlake first though.
• Support your MCHS library and the Bogen Center for Women and Children by donating new or gently-used books to the Library Club's charity book drive! Please drop off books in boxes located in the library and the office by Friday, June 3. Thank you!
• Attention students and faculty: Please mark your calendars to attend the 3rd annual Mira Costa High School Fashion Show on Friday, May 27th, 2011 from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm in the auditorium. This is an event you will not want to miss! Come out and support the fashion department in this spectacular event. Admission is free. Show starts promptly at 7:00 pm.
• The library will be closed from 1:45 - 3 PM TODAY. It will reopen at 3 PM.
• Attention Students: Prom Court 2011 will be announced TODAY during nutrition. Be sure to come to the quad!
CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS
• Attention current Sophomores and Juniors: if you have an unweighted, academic GPA of 3.6, you may be eligible for NHS! Mrs. Wachell is accepting applications for the 2011-2012 school year now through May 27th. Applications are available on the Mira Costa website. Return completed applications to Room 32.
• Club Day is TODAY at lunch in the new quad. Come listen to music, eat delicious food and support our clubs. Pink signs around campus have a list of food being sold.
• Come to Invisible Children Club Thursday at lunch in Room 46! All are welcome!
• Come to Drama Club in Room 1 at lunch TODAY! Voting for Thespian/Drama board.
• Pink Ribbon Club meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 67, elections for club positions will be held so attendance is necessary.
SENIORS
• Jostens will be on campus in the Auditorium on June 1st, Wednesday to distribute Graduation Cap and Gowns. Please pick them up during snack and lunch only. If you are at risk for not graduating, please see your counselors. For those involved in Scholar Quiz be sure to pick up your Cap and Gown at snack.
SPORTS
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• All seniors are required to log on to their Naviance account and record their college applications, admission decisions, and the college he or she will be attending. This information is necessary for our school records and district reports, and to ensure that Scattergrams is accurate for future students. Instructions available in the CCC.
FACULTY
• Don’t forget The Mustang Morning News is back on TODAY, May 25th. Tune into Channel 3 at the beginning of 2nd period.
