STUDENT INFORMATION
• Sophomores will report to their homeroom on Thursday, May 19th at 8am. All other students report to their 1st period class at 10:15

• Attention MCHS students: remember student visitors are not allowed on MBMS’s campus during the school day. For the week of Tuesday May 17th-Friday May 20th.

• Pick your prom forms in the ASB room, Room 40 or Room 43. There is a large discount if you buy your tickets this week!

• Attentions next year’s juniors and seniors: Now is your chance to sign up for student parking next year. Come to Guidance Office before/after school or during snack or lunch to sign up. Students are not allowed to sign up for their friends.

• Don’t delay! Sign up TODAY for the UC/CSU approved Fashion Design course this summer at Mira Costa High School. Have fun while you learn about the exciting, fast-paced fashion industry. Learn how to design and sew your own fashions. Limited space- register today! If you have any questions, stop by Room 112 during nutrition and see Fashion Design instructor, Ms. Cox.

• Attention all juniors and seniors the discounted rate for prom will continue through TODAY, May 16 until 2 pm. At 2:01 pm today the posted prom ticket prices apply.

• Students: If you are in an AP class that has finished using your textbook for the year, you are welcome to return your book to the library now.

• The library will not be open before school on STAR testing minimum days. The library will be open during lunch and after school.

• All 9th, 10th and 11th graders will report to their homeroom classes tomorrow, Tuesday May 17th at 7:50 am for testing. Your homeroom classes are posted on the Admin. Building windows.


CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS

• Come to Eco Club TODAY in Room 73 at lunch. All new members are welcome.

• Club day will be on Wednesday, May 25th. Please bring your club day forms to Claypoole in Room 43. They will be accepted until Wednesday, May 18th.

• Attention current Sophomores and Juniors: if you have an unweighted, academic GPA of 3.6, you may be eligible for NHS! Mrs. Wachell is accepting applications for the 2011-2012 school year now through May 27th. Applications are available on the Mira Costa website. Return completed applications to Room 32.


SENIORS

• All Seniors not going to Magic Mountain are to report to the auditorium at 9am. You will need to sign in for attendance and will be released at 11am.

• Attention Seniors if you haven’t been surveyed yet for La Vista’s annual college map page and would like to be featured, please come to the La Vista room, Room 6 during snack, 4th period, or lunch to fill out a survey, or email your first and last name plus the school you’re attending. (4-year, 2-year, military, or gap year to [email protected]).

• All seniors going to Magic Mountain on Wednesday must meet in the Peck parking lot at 8am.

• Senior seminars will begin at 9 am on Tuesday, May 17th. Please check your seminar location on the Admin. Building windows.


SPORTS

• Do you have a passion for dancing? Come to Dance Team try-outs TODAY, May 16th-19th at 3:30 in the Costa cafeteria. Packets can either be picked up in the office or after try-outs today.


COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

• The CCC is closed TODAY, May 16th.

• Attention Seniors Who Have Completed Scholarship Notebooks:

If you have not come in to the CCC to nominate yourself for the available scholarships, you must do so ASAP in order to have your book considered.

• All seniors are required to log on to their Naviance account and record their college applications, admission decisions, and the college he or she will be attending. This information is necessary for our school records and district reports, and to ensure that Scattergrams is accurate for future students. Instructions are being distributed this week in Senior English classes.

• The American Legion is offering a $1,000.00 scholarship to one of our seniors who has financial need and whose family is active military or in the reserves. If you would like to be considered for this scholarship please contact Mrs. Currey in the CCC by Wednesday, May 18th


FACULTY

• Teachers please remember to send your students to the faculty lounge to pick up breakfast.
