STUDENT INFORMATION
• Pick your prom forms in the ASB room, Room 40 or Room 43. There is a large discount if you buy your tickets this week!

• Attentions next year’s juniors and seniors: Now is your chance to sign up for student parking next year. Come to Guidance Office before/after school or during snack or lunch to sign up. Students are not allowed to sign up for their friends.

• Don’t delay! Sign up TODAY for the UC/CSU approved Fashion Design course this summer at Mira Costa High School. Have fun while you learn about the exciting, fast-paced fashion industry. Learn how to design and sew your own fashions. Limited space- register today! If you have any questions, stop by Room 112 during nutrition and see Fashion Design instructor, Ms. Cox.

• Attention Male Students! Do you think you have what it takes to model! The fashion class is seeking male models to participate in the upcoming Mira Costa High School Fashion Show. If you are interested, please come to the cafeteria on Friday, May 13th at 3:00 pm for rehearsal.

• Jet Propulsion Labs (JPL) in Pasadena will be hosting their annual open house this weekend, Saturday and Sunday May 14th and 15th from 9 am to 5 pm. This event is free.

• Attention all students signed up to go on the 2012 France trip. There will be a mandatory meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 207 at lunch.

• Attention all juniors and seniors the discounted rate for prom will continue through Monday until 2 pm. At 2:01 pm on Monday the posted prom ticket prices apply.


CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS

• Please support the San Pedro Food Pantries by donating canned food items to boxes in classrooms and the office during our canned food drive TODAY, May 13th.

• Club Day will be May 25th, Wednesday. Mrs. Claypoole will be accepting club day forms in Room 43 TODAY, May 13th.

• Come to Food Critics Club TODAY at lunch in Room 50 for some good food and mellow vibes.





SENIORS

• For the 2nd year, Sandacre Scholarship Fund is honored to recognize the GREAT teachers at Mira Costa High School. It’s that time to nominate a teacher who has inspired, prepared and or stimulated his/her students to help them achieve their future endeavors. Please see your senior English teacher for the nomination form. After completing the form, please put it in Denise Anderson’s mailbox on or before May 11th. The winners will be announced at the annual All Awards Assembly, May 26th!

• Attention Seniors if you haven’t been surveyed yet for La Vista’s annual college map page and would like to be featured, please come to the La Vista room, Room 6 during snack, 4th period, or lunch to fill out a survey, or email your first and last name plus the school you’re attending. ( 4-year, 2-year, military, or gap year to [email protected]).


SPORTS

• This is the final day to sign up for the Dodgeball tournament. Sign ups are $10.00 per team. Note that prizes will be given not only to 1st and 2nd but also to the best team costume.

• Do you have a passion for dancing? Come to Dance Team try-outs May 16th-19th at 3:30 in the Costa cafeteria. Packets can either be picked up in the office or after try-outs on the 16th.

• TODAY is the last day to sign up for the dodge ball tournament.


COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

• Attention Seniors Who Have Completed Scholarship Notebooks:

If you have not come in to the CCC to nominate yourself for the available scholarships, you must do so ASAP in order to have your book considered.

• All seniors are required to log on to their Naviance account and record their college applications, admission decisions, and the college he or she will be attending. This information is necessary for our school records and district reports, and to ensure that Scattergrams is accurate for future students. Instructions are being distributed this week in Senior English classes.
