STUDENT INFORMATION

• AP Students; the final three AP Exam pre-identification sessions are scheduled as follows:

Monday, April 18 7:00 pm Small Gym
Tuesday, April 19 7:30 pm Small Gym
Wednesday, April 27 3:30 pm Small Gym

Each meting will last approximately 40 minutes. Students must attend one and need to be on time, bring a #2 pencil and something (a clipboard, book, etc.) on which to write.

• La Vista is at it again with its annual photo contest. Submit photos for categories of person, place or thing. If you win we will swag you out with great prizes. Submit to the La Vista room before April 20th during 4th period or lunch.

• It’s not too late to sign up to attend an assembly with D.J. MacHale next Tuesday, April 19, during Period 3 or 4. Come by the library today for a permission form. Also plan to buy one of his books and get it signed. You can purchase books in the library foyer on Tuesday.

• AP Commitment forms and Waiver forms are now available under News on the Costa Website (miracostahigh.org). These forms are to be turned in during lunch TODAY, April 15 at the student store.

• TODAY, April 15th-Day of Silence. Students across the country will take a vow of silence to call attention to the silencing effect of anti LGBT bullying and harassment in schools. Mira Costa and hundreds of thousands of students across the country will take part in this student led action to educate their schools and communities and to encourage others to address the problem of anti LGBT behavior in schools.

• All GSA students who ordered Day of Silence T-Shirts...please see Ms. Tower to get them. There are extra's for anyone else interested. $5 each.

• SAT Savvy Prep Class-Register for the 3rd and final session by April 22nd to get the discount. Come to Room 18, 50, or CCC for more info.

• Reminder: The Scholar Breakfast in on Tuesday, April 19th at 7:00 pm in the Cafeteria. If you received an invite, please attend.

• If you live to dance don’t forget Dance Team tryouts are next week Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 in the cafeteria!

• National Honor Society is having a book drive! Please bring any elementary level books to Room 32 by May 9th. Thank you!


CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS

• Attention NHS Members: Don’t forget that we are collecting member dues all this week during lunch. Please bring $20.00 in cash or check from to Room 32. Checks should be made out to MCHS.

• Do you want to cheer your Mustangs on to victory next year? Do you love to dance? Well here’s your chance to take your talents and share them with us all. Tryouts for the MCHS Cheer and Song Squads are just around the corner. Pick up a tryout packet in the Main Office or visit our website www.mchspepsquad.com.

• No Satirical Newspaper Club TODAY there’s just nothing to satirize right now!

• Join the Mira Costa High School team for the Richstone Pier to Pier Walkathon fundraiser at Chipotle restaurant in Hermosa 50% of your purchase will be donated to Richstone Family Center. Get a flyer from Heart to Art to participate.

• TODAY is the last day to submit dues for NHS members. Come by Room 32 at lunch to drop off your dues.

• Come to Food Critics Club TODAY in Room 50 at lunch for some good food and mellow vibes.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

• Seniors signing up for Art scholarships should bring in a CD or portfolio of your art work. The CCC will submit your art along with your scholarship notebook to the various art scholarship donors.
