STUDENT INFORMATION
• La Vista is at it again with its annual photo contest. Submit photos for categories of person, place or thing. If you win we will swag you out with great prizes. Submit to the La Vista room before April 20th during 4th period or lunch.
• D.J. MacHale will be here on April 19. Don’t miss your chance to hear him speak about his craft. Come by the library or ask your English teacher for a permission form to attend an assembly Period 3 or 4. Also, plan to buy one of his books from {pages} on the day of the visit and get it signed by him.
• AP Commitment forms and Waiver forms are now available under News on the Costa Website (miracostahigh.org). These forms are to be turned in during lunch TODAY, April 13-15 at the student store.
• AP Students: Rosters for the 2011 AP Exams have now been posted on the front windows for the Administration Building showing room assignments and times. Please check the rosters ASAP. If you’re registered and do not see your name, please see Ms. Norris in the office immediately.
• Don’t delay! Sign up today for the UC/CSU approved Fashion Design course this summer at Mira Costa High School. Have fun while you learn about the exciting, fast paced fashion industry. Learn how to design and sew your own fashions. Limited space-register today! If you have any questions, stop by Room 112 during nutrition and see Fashion Design instructor, Ms. Cox.
• AP Students: The first AP exam pre-identification session is Thursday, April 14th at 7:00 a.m. in the small gym. The meeting will last approximately 40 minutes. Students need to be on time, and bring a #2 pencil and something ( a clipboard, book, etc.) on which to write.
• April 15th-Day of Silence. Students across the country will take a vow of silence to call attention to the silencing effect of anti LGBT bullying and harassment in schools. Mira Costa and hundreds of thousands of students across the country will take part in this student led action to educate their schools and communities and to encourage others to address the problem of anti LGBT behavior in schools.
• All GSA students who ordered Day of Silence T-Shirts...please see Ms. Tower to get them.
There are extra's for anyone else interested. $5 each.
• SAT Savvy Prep Class-Register for the 3rd and final session by April 22nd to get the discount. Come to Room 18, 50, or CCC for more info.
• Please Help Japan: The Relief Japan 2011 Fund is an organization created to assist Japan raise money for the damages caused by the earthquake and tsunami. Any donations, even a penny, would help. Please place donations in the box in Mrs. Geczi’s room. Room 47.
CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS
• Attention NHS Members: Don’t forget that we are collecting member dues all this week during lunch. Please bring $20.00 in cash or check from to Room 32. Checks should be made out to MCHS.
• Do you want to cheer your Mustangs on to victory next year? Do you love to dance? Well here’s your chance to take your talents and share them with us all. Tryouts for the MCHS Cheer and Song Squads are just around the corner. Pick up a tryout packet in the Main Office or visit our website www.mchspepsquad.com.
• Relay for Life Club is looking for bands interested in competing in a battle of the bands at the relay on May 14th. Contact Jenny Anderson: [email protected].
• ASB board and class officer election packets are due by 3:00 TODAY, April 13th to either Room 43 or Mrs. Claypoole’s box in the office.
• Help Latino Scholars Union raise money for Relay for Life this Thursday from 3 to 9 at Rubios Restaurant in Manhattan Beach. Be sure to bring the flyer when you come to eat.
• Growing Great meeting this Thursday anyone is welcome and we need volunteers for healthy living festival.
• Pink Ribbon Club meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 67.

• All seniors: If you or your parents ordered Graduation Announcements from Jostens, you may pick them up on Thursday, April 14th in the Auditorium at snack and lunch ONLY.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• Seniors signing up for Art scholarships should bring in a CD or portfolio of your art work. The CCC will submit your art along with your scholarship notebook to the various art scholarship donors.
