• Presentations about the course expectations for AP and Honors courses are being held over the next few weeks during lunch. If you are interested in taking any AP or Honors course you must attend the meeting for that course. The following is a list of dates for all of the course's presentations:

• Any new players interested in trying out for the Baseball team, tryouts will be Mon, Tues, and Wed of next week on the baseball field at 3pm. If you have any questions contact Coach Olson in Room 203.
• Starting TODAY, students that have an “excused 1st,5th or 6th period” or surf team on their schedule need to come to the Guidance Office to get an “Off -Grounds sticker” placed on their student ID card. Off-grounds will be issued before school, at snack, at lunch or after school only. Please do not come during class time. If you are stopped by the police without the Off- Grounds sticker on your ID card, you may be subject to a truancy citation.
• Students! If you traveled anywhere awesome or did something unusual this winter break, yearbook needs you! Let us know what you did ASAP. Send us an email: miracostayearbook @gmail.com or come to room 9 TODAY at lunch.
• Redondo Beach sister cities is inviting Mira Costa students who are interested in participating in an exchange with their sister city in China. If you are interested in going to China during Spring Break on a sister city exchange, see Mr. Mancilla for further info. Deadline is February 20th.
• AP students: Did you miss registering for the AP exams? There will be late registration TODAY at lunch only at the student store. An additional fee of $15 for each exam will be charged.
• GSA and Student Body...Interested in going to our nation's capital to learn more about advocating for safe schools? Meeting amazing people and making lifelong friends? Telling your congressperson and senators why ALL students deserve to be safe in school? Then apply for GLSEN's Safe Schools Advocacy Summit March 27-29, 2011. • TODAY is the last day to buy Valgrams get them while there hot! $1.00- lollipops, $2.00-carnations, $3.00 for both.
• Lip Sync meeting TODAY in the cafeteria at 3pm.
• Dr. Mae Jemison was the first African American Woman astronaut to launch into space.

• Lend-a-Hand Sock Drive! Please bring in a pair of new socks to help warm feet of those in need! Collection will continue through February; collection boxes can be found in the office, library, and ASB Room.
• The MCHS Comedy Sportz Team is competing against Long Beach Poly this Friday at 7:00 in Room 1! Come enjoy a night of crazy, improvised, chuckle your buckle fun. Cost is $5 at the door. All proceeds go to the auditorium for tools
• There is a Girls League meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 34. Newcomers are always welcome!
• New Life Christian Club TODAY at lunch in Room 66. All are welcome!
