• Presentations about the course expectations for AP and Honors courses are being held over the next few weeks during lunch. If you are interested in taking any AP or Honors course you must attend the meeting for that course. The following is a list of dates for all of the course's presentations:

• Starting TODAY, students that have an “excused 1st,5th or 6th period” or surf team on their schedule need to come to the Guidance Office to get an “Off -Grounds sticker” placed on their student ID card. Off-grounds will be issued before school, at snack, at lunch or after school only. Please do not come during class time. If you are stopped by the police without the Off- Grounds sticker on your ID card, you may be subject to a truancy citation.

• All students interested in going on the Tall Ship Expedition: there will be a mandatory meeting, TODAY at lunch in Room 63.

• Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. You can now purchase a Val-gram for your loved ones everyday this week at lunch in front of the student store. $1.00- lollipops, $2.00-carnations, $3.00 for both.

• Students! If you traveled anywhere awesome or did something unusual this winter break, yearbook needs you! Let us know what you did ASAP. Send us an email: miracostayearbook @gmail.com or come to room 9 TODAY at lunch.

• Redondo Beach sister cities is inviting Mira Costa students who are interested in participating in an exchange with their sister city in China. If you are interested in going to China during Spring Break on a sister city exchange, see Mr. Mancilla for further info. Deadline is February 20th.

• AP students: Did you miss registering for the AP exams? There will be late registration TODAY at lunch only at the student store. An additional fee of $15 for each exam will be charged.

• Good luck to the Varsity Cheer Team as they compete at the UCA National Cheerleading Championships at Walt Disney World this weekend. We are proud of you!

CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS

• Lend-a-Hand Sock Drive! Please bring in a pair of new socks to help warm feet of those in need! Collection will continue through February; collection boxes can be found in the office, library, and ASB Room.

• Next Charitable Coutoure meeting Tuesday, Feb. 15.

• Come by Room 73 at lunch TODAY to join the Red Cross Club in discussing new volunteer opportunities for the second semester.

• Come to Drama Club TODAY at lunch in Room 1.

• The MCHS Comedy Sportz Team is competing against Long Beach Poly this Friday at 7:00 in Room 1! Come enjoy a night of crazy, improvised, chuckle your buckle fun. Cost is $5 at the door. All proceeds go to the auditorium for tools
