STUDENT INFORMATION

• Calling all future male and female models!!! Have you ever dreamed of walking down the runway in glamorous couture? We are now looking for male and female models for the upcoming 2011 Mira Costa High School Fashion Show! Auditions will be held during lunch TODAY, February 2nd, 2011 in the fashion classroom Room 112. Ladies please bring your high heels.

• AP Students! Don’t forget to sign up to register to take your AP exams TODAY at lunch only at the student store. Please bring your worksheets filled out and a pen to complete the official registration form. Checks ($92.00 for each exam) should be made payable to Mira Costa High School.

• Talent Show tickets are on sale now in Room 40 or 43! Tickets are $3 w/ ASB sticker and $4 w/o. They will be $5 at the door on Thursday.

• SAT Savvy Test Prep starts February 5th. Last chance to sign up. Come to Room 18, 50, or the CCC.

• Starting Monday, February 7th students that have an “excused 1st,5th or 6th period” or surf team on their schedule need to come to the Guidance Office to get an “Off -Grounds sticker” placed on their student ID card. Off-grounds will be issued before school, at snack, at lunch or after school only. Please do not come during class time. If you are stopped by the police without the Off- Grounds sticker on your ID card, you may be subject to a truancy citation.

• February is Black History Month. It was est. in 1976. Prepare for a new African American fact each day in February.

• Spain Trip meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 48.



CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS

• Attention all NHS members: We will have our first mandatory, all members meeting on Friday, February 4th at lunch in the auditorium. We will also have subsequent meetings on the first of every month, so mark your calendars

• Come to Drama Club! At lunch TODAY in Room 1!

• Mandatory Latino Scholars Union meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 123. We will be taking the yearbook photo. See you there!

• Black Scholars Union will be meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 15!

SENIORS

• College Mid year reports are due to your guidance counselors no later than Feb. 4th. Please get them in on time.

• The Senior Parent Meeting is Tuesday, Feb. 8th at 7:00 pm in the auditorium.


SPORTS

• Girls Lacrosse is holding another tryout this Thursday, February 3rd at 4:45 pm at the stadium. Please bring your gear (running shoes, stick, goggles, mouth guard, and cleats) we are looking for more players. No experience necessary.


COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

• Adam Ingersol, Co-founder of Compass Education Group will speak on colleges’ use of test scores, Feb. 17th at 7pm in the auditorium.

• A representative from FIDM will be in the CCC February 3rd during 3rd period. All students are welcome.


FACULTY

• The PACE assembly scheduled for Wednesday will be postponed due to a double late start.
