STUDENT INFORMATION
• Reminder: Tuesday, Feb. 1st and Wednesday, Feb. 2 is Department Meeting Schedule for
9th, 11th and12th graders only
• Attention all 10th grade students: you will be taking the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) on Tuesday, February 1st and Wednesday, February 2nd, at 8:00 a.m. The exam will be given in your homeroom class. Your homeroom class is the same homeroom class you had every Friday last year in the second semester. If you do not remember or do not know your homeroom teacher and room number, please check the list posted on the windows of the Administration Building or the windows of the Library. Please take the time to check the list before Tuesday morning, February 1st so that you will know which classroom you are to report to for testing. Your ID card will be required for testing.
• Calling all future male and female models!!! Have you ever dreamed of walking down the runway in glamorous couture? We are now looking for male and female models for the upcoming 2011 Mira Costa High School Fashion Show! Auditions will be held during lunch on Wednesday, February 2nd, 2011 in the fashion classroom Room 112. Ladies please bring your high heels.
• Students in semester classes, please be sure to return your books to the library this week.
• Congratulations to the following students who submitted entries for the Neptunian Art Contest and are chosen winners in each respective category. Also, if you submitted an entry and your name does not appear as a contest winner, please come to the Guidance Office and pick up your art work or photo. Thanks to all who entered. • AP Students! Don’t forget to sign up to register to take your AP exams TODAY at lunch only at the student store. Please bring your worksheets filled out and a pen to complete the official registration form. Checks ($92.00 for each exam) should be made payable to Mira Costa High School.
CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS
• Reflections will meet TODAY during lunch in Room 18. Everyone is welcome. We will be voting on magazine submissions
• Attention all NHS members: We will have our first mandatory, all members meeting on Friday, February 4th at lunch in the auditorium. We will also have subsequent meetings on the first of every month, so mark your calendars
• Do you like turtles? Well come join Eco Club in Room 73 TODAY at lunch. All new members are welcome.
SENIORS
• College Mid year reports are due to your guidance counselors no later than Feb. 4th. Please get them in on time.
• The Senior Parent Meeting is Tuesday, Feb. 8th at 7:00 pm in the auditorium.
SPORTS
• All badminton team players meet TODAY at lunch in Room 57.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• A representative from El Camino will be here Tues, Feb 1st 10am – 12am to help students with their application. Sign up in the CCC. Students must have their SS# with them to complete the application.
• If you have applied to San Francisco State University for fall admission, please see either Mrs. Currey or Mrs. Folkman in the CCC. They need some additional information from you before midyear grades can be sent
• Adam Ingersol, Co-founder of Compass Education Group will speak on colleges’ use of test scores, Feb. 17th at 7pm in the auditorium.
FACULTY
• The PACE assembly scheduled for Wednesday will be postponed due to a double late start.
