STUDENT INFORMATION.

• PTA’s Reflections Art contest is accepting your Art Photography, Film, Literature, Musical Competition or Dance Choreography entries. This year’s theme is “Together We Can” rules and forms are in the office deadline for submissions are Friday November 16th.

• If you are interested in going to Spain over Spring Break it is not too late to sign up! Pay your deposit this week as prices will be going up next week. See Mrs. Shapiro in Room 48 for more info.

• Teachers And Students. If you would like to enter the Halloween costume contest on Friday, October 29th you must report to the quad at nutrition. The contest is at nutrition, Awards are at lunch.

• Reflections-submit your prose, poetry, and artwork to Room 18 to be published!

• Don’t forget that the deadline for the Manhattan Beach Public Library bookmark design contest is Saturday. Bring your design to the Mira Costa Library by Friday or to the public library by Saturday. We also have design forms at our library.

• Arcligt Cinemas invites you to their newest location, Arclight Beach Cities in El Segundo. To mark their arrival to the South Bay, they are celebrating surfing and its unique culture by featuring a variety of surf films. A special package of $10 is being offered to help the Baja Club, which includes admission to your film and a regular popcorn and soda. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Baja Club. Films playing will be: Pacific Vibrations, Blue Crush, North Shore and Surf’s Up.

• We will be on the A/B assembly schedule on Friday October 29th for the Red Ribbon assembly please look for auditorium assignment sheet to find which assembly and a seating chart.


CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS

• Lend a Hand club meeting TODAY in Room 41, come help us aid the homeless.

• Come to the Drama Room during lunch TODAY for a spooky Halloween noon-time theater!

• Friendship Circle meets TODAY in Room 114! All are welcome.

• Come to Gay Straight Alliance TODAY at lunch in Room 23.

• New Life Christian Club in Mrs. Manago’s room, Room 66 TODAY.

• Come to Foreign Film Club TODAY at lunch in Room 19. There will be Popcorn!

SENIORS

• Costa goes Green! This year, in an effort to help preserve our environment, Graduation Cap and Gowns from Jostens will be bio-degradable. The gowns are vibrant in color and will last until approximately 5 years if it does not touch the ground. A representative from Jostens will be here on November 2nd to explain to senior students how to order cap and gowns, announcements and other graduation memorabilia. The representative will then return November 9th to take orders. Senior students will be released from their 2nd period classes at 9:30 am on November 2nd to attend the senior meeting in the auditorium. On November 9th, the representative from Jostens will be available to take orders between 7:30 am -1:30 pm in front of the College and Career Center. Students may place their order before school, snack, or lunch. The representative will also be in the College and Career Center from 7:00-8:00 pm that same day/evening.
