STUDENT INFORMATION.

• PTA’s Reflections Art contest is accepting your Art Photography, Film, Literature, Musical Competition or Dance Choreography entries. This year’s theme is “Together We Can” rules and forms are in the office deadline for submissions are Friday November 16th.

• Boys Golf tryouts will be on Wed 10/20 at 2:30. Check with Coaches Fauver and Timberlake to sign up

• Boys Volleyball Tryouts will be held Wednesday October 20th in the main gym. Freshman will tryout at 3:00, all others will tryout at 4:30. Any questions see Mr. Ninnis in Room 52.

• The next IN-N-OUT Honor Roll Recognition Event will be held TODAY, October 19th and all eligible students must bring their current Mira Costa I.D’s to the school auditorium to participate. This event is for current sophomores, juniors, and seniors who earned a G.P.A of 3.5 or higher at Mira Costa last semester.( freshman will have the chance to participate in the spring event). The IN-N-OUT burgers will be served during the regular lunch period, and grilled cheese sandwiches will also be available. In addition, a complimentary lunch will be served to all teachers and staff members, beginning at 12:00 noon.

• The Music Department is holding a lunchtime Performance/ lecture series. Singer/Songwriter Gavin Healey of The Latch Key Kid will be in Room 16 (Choir room) on October 20th during lunch performing his music and discussing how to be successful as a songwriter and performer.

• Yearbook is collecting doodles to put into the book. If you enjoy doodling, pick up a form in the yearbook room or in the office next to the box to turn them in. All doodles should be turned into the box in the office no later than Friday, October 22nd.

• Attention Senior-Freshman siblings! If you and your sibling have not taken your picture for the yearbook, come to the yearbook room, Room 9 at lunch Monday and Tuesday to get your photo taken!

• Come out to the gym at the beginning of lunch to watch the Basketball tournament this week.

• This week is Teen Road Week, a national celebration and our theme at Mira Costa is “Books with Bite”. Come by the library this week and check out a book with bite and you will be entered in a drawing to win a bookstore gift certificate.


CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS

• Young Republicans Club meeting TODAY in Room 18!

• Come to Room 5 at lunch TODAY and join in on Team LA’s discussions and festivities.


• Lend a Hand Club is hosting a warm drive around campus. If you have any items to keep people warm this winter, bring them to the office, library, or ASB room!


SENIORS

• Attention Seniors! If you have not yet taken your Senior portrait you must schedule it immediately! Please call Ralf’s Photography at (310) 322-0069 ASAP! Also if you have not chosen which portrait you would like published in the yearbook, please do so by the end of the wee. The last day to take your photo is Friday, October 22nd, otherwise you will not be included in the yearbook.
