STUDENT INFORMATION
• Volunteer Opportunity - Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair, October 2-3, 2010 10-6pm. Volunteers are needed to help in Kid Country. Kid Country offers the free activities for children and includes pony rides, bouncy bounces, "wild" animal show, Velcro wall and other exciting adventures. Shifts are two hours long – students can work as many as you wish. Students will earn Community Service credits as well as get a Fair Tee shirt for your work. • Any student who paid for a yearbook or ASB sticker and did not get a stamp on their ID can come to the Guidance office during snack/lunch or after school for a reprinted card.
CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS
• If you are interested in being a freshman class officer in student government, the meeting originally scheduled for Wednesday has been rescheduled to TODAY, come to Room 40 at lunch for a Mandatory Informational meeting.
• Come to Applied Theoretical Strategies Club TODAY in Room 43 to plan for hard and challenging games.
SENIORS
SPORTS
• Girls Soccer Tryouts TODAY at 3pm on bleachers. Bring running shoes and cleats.
• Girls Basketball Tryouts: Tuesday, Sept 14th,3:00-4:00 in the big gym and Wednesday, Sept 15th,4:30-5:30 in the small gym
• Softball Tryouts will be held TODAY on the varsity softball diamond at 3:30
• Boys Basketball tryouts for all new students who are not in a fall sport will be Tuesday, 9/14 at 6pm in the main gym. Students who are in a fall sport will have an opportunity to tryout at the end of the fall season.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• Are you “Making a Difference” through Volunteering over the past year? Apply for the Prudential Spirit of Community Award. Applications must be completed and submitted by November 1st. For more information see College and Career Counselors ASAP!
• PSAT and PLAN Test Registration will take place the week of September 13-17th in the student store. Cost is $25 per exam. Space is limited so sign up early to guarantee a spot. The PLAN test will be given on Sat., Oct. 9th at 8am and is for sophomores only. The PSAT test will be given on Sat., Oct. 16th at 8am. The PSAT is designed for juniors, but sophomores and freshman are allowed to take the exam. It is recommended that you are in Algebra 3-4 or higher.
• SCROC classes begin Monday, 9/13. You must bring your confirmation letter to class the first day. Sign up to see Mrs. Morrow in the CCC if you have questions
