STUDENT INFORMATION
• Volunteer Opportunity - Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair, October 2-3, 2010 10-6pm. Volunteers are needed to help in Kid Country. Kid Country offers the free activities for children and includes pony rides, bouncy bounces, "wild" animal show, Velcro wall and other exciting adventures. Shifts are two hours long – students can work as many as you wish. Students will earn Community Service credits as well as get a Fair Tee shirt for your work. • TODAY is Mira Costa’s first football game of the season. The game starts at 7pm and is being played against Loyola. To show the MCHS football team our support, we will have a Pep Rally during lunch in the old quad.
• Costa will be holding its first dance following tonight’s football game known as the “RADICAL AND VIVASIOUS EVENT”, which will be held in the cafeteria. The cost is two dollars with an ASB sticker and three dollars without an ASB sticker. Hope to see you there!
CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS
• If you are interested in being a freshman class officer in student government, come to Room 40 at lunch for a Mandatory Informational meeting on Wednesday, September 8th.
• This TUESDAY will be the first Club Council meeting of the school year. If you are a club president please make sure to come to Room 40 during lunch for important information. If you are unable to attend, make sure to have a representative attend for you. The meeting will cover all details about Homecoming nominations and much more.

SPORTS
• Any girls interested in trying out for the Girls Golf team need to contact Mr. Hands in Room 37 ASAP. Season is starting next week, practice already in progress.
“Deadline: TODAY
• Fall Track Tryouts: TODAY, Sept. 3rd at 3:15pm. Come dressed to run and check in with Coach Fish when you arrive.
• Girls Cross Country Tryouts will be held TODAY, Friday, Sept. 3rd at 3pm, and Saturday, Sept. 4th at 10am. Meet Coach Williams-Smith at the Meadows ramp of Stadium Way to try out. Runners must attend all three days of tryouts.
• Girls Soccer Tryouts Sept. 7th thru Sept 10th at 3pm on bleachers. Bring running shoes and cleats.
• Any student who would like to tryout for Boys Soccer meet Coach Smith in Room 26 on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 3pm ready to play.
• Any student interested in playing Boy’s Volleyball this year should attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 8th at lunch in Room 52.
• To All potential Mira Costa Golf team members: Tryouts are on September 8th. Please see Mr. Fauver in Room 200 or Mr. Timberlake in Room 202 by Monday, September 6th at 3:00 pm.
