SENIOR SCHEDULE
8:30 am to 8 pm: Senior trip to Magic Mountain (park is open from 10:30 to 6 pm). Seniors not attending will report to the auditorium at 9:00 am for a screening of Avatar.
STUDENT INFORMATION
• Pasta for Pennies is now taking place through May 28th in your 2nd period classes. Bring in money to donate to the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society. The class who collects the most money gets an Olive Garden catered pasta Party!
• Prom tickets are now on sale at the student store during lunch. Pick up a form in Room 43, find a date, and buy your bid! This week only prices are $170/couple and $90/individual with an ASB sticker, and $180/ couple and $95/individual without an ASB sticker. Prices go up next week, so hurry up and buy tickets to the 2010 MCHS Prom surely an “Affair to Remember”.
• ATTENTION next year’s Juniors and Seniors: Now is your chance to sign up for student parking next year. Come to the Guidance Office before/after school or during snack or lunch to sign up. Students are not allowed to sign up for their friends.
• Teachers: please survey your classrooms for stray, abandoned, or maverick textbooks. Please send the textbooks to the library
• Sign ups for the Scholar Quiz 2010 will take place on Wednesday, May 26 in front of the Student Store beginning at 7:45 am. You can pick up a team entry sheet from ASB or La Vista beginning on Wednesday, May 19th. Each team must have four people, with one captain. You need grade level, GPA and 2nd period class for each person on your team. If you haven’t started yet, start putting together those teams!
• Students, remember that during shortened days MBMS will not allow visitors from the High School.

CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS
• Come to support Stand Up to Cancer club Friday, May 21st (all day) at Tutti Frutti. A percent of the profits will go to the Stand Up to Cancer Organization! Buy yogurt and save a life!
SENIORS

SPORTS
• A second spring football meeting will be TODAY at lunch in Room 105. Dates and info will be discussed. You need not attend if you went to the first meeting.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• The South Bay Adult School is hiring student aides to work M-TH (2-4 night per week), 6-10pm, starting June 28. This job is open to MCHS students 16 years of age and pays $8/hr. Please stop by the adult school office (located next to the health office, M-TH) for an application and interview. For more information go to the CCC
• Seniors with Scholarship Notebooks-If you have signed up and still want to be considered for the Manhattan Beach Historical Society Scholarship, please bring the following items to the CCC by Friday morning May 21st: Completed applications and a 2 page double spaced essay on “Growing Up in Manhattan Beach”
• Reminder: If you are planning to enroll in a SoCalRoc class for fall-please get your completed application to your counselor for signatures
FACULTY
• Teachers: Mark you calendars and save the date of Friday June 11th for our annual End-of-the-Year celebration at Shannon Vaughan’s house. We will be honoring our retirees and co-workers who will be galloping off into the sunset. Watch for your flyer in the mailbox by the end of the week.
