STUDENT INFORMATION

• Pre-Sale tickets for the Wiz are on sale at snack and lunch starting Tuesday April 13th in Room 1. $10 for students and seniors and $12 for adults. At the door; seniors and students are $12 and adults are $15.

• Richstone Stones’ annual Pier-to-Pier Walkathon is on April 24th. Don’t forget to bring your friends, family and walking shoes. Sign up either online or go to Ms. Vaughn’s room, Rm. 18, for sign up forms!

• Calling all dancers! Don’t forget dance team tryouts are April 19th through April 22nd. Packets are in the main office.

• Applications are now being accepted for the nationally award-winning Mustang Morning News staff. See Mr. Hernandez in Room 108 or download an application from our website: www.mustangmorningnews.com

• If you would like to be a commissioner on the Mira Costa’s Student Government, come to the last mandatory meeting on Thursday if you have not already attended one at lunch in Room 40!

• AP Students: The first AP exam pre-identification session is this Thursday, April 15th at 7:00 am in Room1. The meeting will last approximately 40 minutes. Students need to be on time, and bring a #2 pencil and something to write on (a clipboard, book, etc.)








CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS

• Mandatory meeting of the Years Young Club TODAY at lunch.

• Come learn Sign Language at the DHH Sign Language Club. Bring your lunch and your hands ready to sign Friday at lunch in Room 125

• The pink Ribbon Club will be meeting TODAY at lunch in Mr. Bartlett’s room, Room 67.

• Christian Club at lunch TODAY in Room 201 and 202.

• Attention Mama D’s lovers, please come support Science Olympiad Club by enjoying their great Italian food on Monday, April 19th in either Hermosa or Manhattan.

• There are 130 different types of brain tumors, making diagnosis and treatment very difficult. Pediatric brain tumors aren’t like those of adults. Children’s brain tumors require specific research and different treatments. Please support brain tumor awareness by buying a brain tumor awareness bracelet for only $1.

SENIORS

• Any Seniors who didn’t pick up their graduation announcements may do so
TODAY during snack and lunch only at the attendance office.

• Has there been a wonderful teacher on campus who has encouraged, inspired, and/or truly prepared your for your future? If so, NOW is the time to acknowledge and honor them. Sandacre Scholarship Program will honor 3 Mira Costa teachers at the All Awards Assembly in May. Nomination forms will be available in homerooms on Friday, April 16th! Please complete the nomination form and turn it into Mrs. Anderson on Friday, April 16th or Monday April 19th at lunch in the student store. Let your teachers know how much you appreciate them!

• Seniors! Please send in your photos for the 2010 senior slideshow. You may submit photos to the box in the office or email to [email protected] or by dropping off CD’s, USB’s with photos or printed photos. All pictures are due April 30th.

SPORTS

• Please excuse the JV and FS Baseball teams at 1:40pm TODAY for away games at West High.

• Please excuse Girls Softball Team TODAY at 1:20pm for a game at Culver City.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

• A student representative will be here from UCLA Monday the 19th at lunch to talk with admitted students. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions.

FACULTY

• Congratulations to Bill Fauver! Bill is the Mira Costa 2009-2010 Teacher of the Year. He is a tremendous representative of the wonderful things that occur in Costa Classrooms.
