STUDENT INFORMATION
• The process of passing a homeroom period into our schedule has been approved by the staff, the auditor form the state, and is going to the Board TODAY. One last remaining vote needs to be taken as to how often homeroom should meet. The vote will take place TODAY. The two top running choices are; once a week or five times a week. Please vote TODAY in Shari Humphrey’s office which is open all day.
• Leaving campus without an Off Grounds Pass is a Truant. Your parents cannot clear the absence after the fact.
• Powder Puff Players: Team photos will be taken Tuesday, December 15th at lunch at Waller Stadium. Bring money or a check if you plan to get pictures!
• This year’s Powder Puff Game is Tuesday, December 15th at 7pm- $ 6.00 to get in. Be there!
• Due to technical issues the Visual Arts category of the Reflections Art Contest is reopened with all work due in the office by close of school TODAY. Only Visual Artists must re-enter and must adhere rigorously to the rules that can be found on the CAPTA website pr in the office. All entries must attach a new, signed entry form. And conform to all rules governing size and copyright issues. Any questions call Janine Madrid 310-686-4691.
• Hey Costa, Operation Happiness has begun and will end on the 15th. Give back to the less fortunate by bringing in cans and gifts for your adoptive child or family. Make a difference; give them a holiday to remember.
CLUBS / ORGANIZATIONS
• Calling all students! Need community service hours? Enjoy working with senior citizens? Come to Room 50 at lunch on Thursday to be part of this community outreach club.
• Dimes for Diabetes Club is TODAY at lunch in room 30.
• The Pink Ribbon Club will be meeting TODAY at lunch in Mr. Bartlett’s Room, Room 67.
• Until There’s A Cure Clubs first meeting TODAY! Help raise money for AIDS! Everyone is welcome!
• Need community service? Enjoy Baseball? Then come to SFB club TODAY at Mr. Olson’s room, Room 203.
• Bobsled down to Room 1 TODAY to get your weekly Drama Club update and to see a firework show…inside!
• Fantasy sports club TODAY! Pick up teams and discuss upcoming sport in Mrs. Baral’s room, Room 61.

• Please excuse all Boys Soccer players TODAY at 1:30pm for games at Artesia. The players have been told to check into period 5 teacher because of the schedule.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• Secondary school Reports and Requests for Letters of Recommendation must be submitted to your Educational Advisor no later than Friday, December 11th for the January application deadline.
• The CCC is having a Practice ACT on Saturday, January 9, from 8:30am- 1pm. Cost is $20-come to the CC to register.
• ATTENTION SOPHOMORES: The PLAN test results will be distributed this Friday during snack and lunch in the lobby of the auditorium.
• Attention all Seniors who have applied to UCLA: Steven LoCascio, an alumni from Mira Costa, and current student at UCLA will be here Tuesday the 15th at lunch to discuss the UCLA Alumni Scholarship and Scholars Club. He will discuss how to apply for the scholarship and answer questions about being a student at UCLA. This is a great opportunity to get information first hand from a student.
