STUDENT INFO
· Wondering what to do with all that Halloween candy? Operation Gratitude is collecting candy to send to deployed U.S. Service members. Bring unopened candy to the box in the front office Friday, Nov. 1 through Friday, Nov. 8. Please consider adding a letter or drawing to let our service members know you care.
· Calling all clubs, sports teams, groups and individuals: The 2019 Lip Sync Contest is here! Show us your lip sync skills and win a chance at prize money! Sign-ups will begin during lunch this Friday, Nov. 1 through Thursday, Nov. 7! Look for the Dance Team table near the Mustang mall. Show will be Thursday, Nov. 21!
· Costa’s last football game is at home TONIGHT vs. Redondo at 7 pm. Wear all black to the game!
· For those going on the Italy 2020 trip with Mr. Piorek, there is a mandatory meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 25. Please bring your passport.
· MCHS Drama/Tech Department’s fall play, She Kills Monsters, opens on Friday, 11/8 at 7:30 pm in the Small Theater and runs 11/9, 11/15, and 11/16 at 7:30 pm, 11/14 at 4 pm, and 11/14 at 6:30 pm. Pre-sale tickets are now available online at miracostadramaboosters.org. Student Store ticket sales begin Monday 11/4.
SPORTS
· Last chance to try out for Boys’ Soccer will be Monday – Wednesday, Nov. 4 – 6. Meet Coach Smith in Room 132 at 3:00 the first day. Bring your gear.
· Boys’ Indoor Volleyball Tryouts are happening soon: 11/4 from 3:30 – 5 pm at MBMS for all grades; 11/8 from 6 – 7:30 pm at El Segundo High for freshmen only; 11/13 and 11/14, 8 to 10 pm (New Time) at El Segundo for all grades.
CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
· Please join the South Bay Food Initiative at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank on Saturday, Nov. 2 to sort food from 9am to 12pm. No experience is necessary, and you can earn three hours of community service. For more information or to sign up, please visit www.southbayfoodinitiative.com. The deadline to sign up is TODAY, Friday, Nov. 1.

· College Essays – If you’d like a CCC counselor to revise your personal statement or personal insight questions, bring a double-spaced copy to the CCC. Be sure to include your name, email, and the prompt to which you are responding.
· College Representative Visits in the CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign up to attend on NAVIANCE. Please bring your school ID.
