STUDENT INFO
· Calling all clubs, sports teams, groups and individuals: The 2019 Lip Sync Contest is here! Show us your lip sync skills and win a chance at prize money! Sign-ups will begin during lunch this Friday, Nov. 1 through Thursday, Nov. 7! Look for the Dance Team table near the Mustang mall. Show will be Thursday, Nov. 21!
· Costa’s last football game is at home this Friday vs. Redondo at 7 pm. Wear all black to the game!
· For those going on the Italy 2020 trip with Mr. Piorek, there is a mandatory meeting this Friday, 11/1, at lunch in Room 25. Please bring your passport.
· MCHS Drama/Tech Department’s fall play, She Kills Monsters, opens on Friday, 11/8 at 7:30 pm in the Small Theater and runs 11/9, 11/15, and 11/16 at 7:30 pm, 11/14 at 4 pm, and 11/14 at 6:30 pm. Pre-sale tickets are now available online at miracostadramaboosters.org. Student Store ticket sales begin Monday 11/4.
· Attention Athletes signing to colleges: Wednesday, Nov. 13 will be the first signing day of the year at 11:10am (lunch on an Office Hours day). See Ms. Gardner in the Admin Office for a signing-day template to complete and return no later than Friday, Nov. 8. If athletes miss the Nov. 8 deadline, they must wait for the winter or spring signing days. ASB makes the banners, and we have to be mindful of their other time commitments. Also note: Current Costa athletes will be honored. All other students participating in collegiate sports will be recognized at All Awards. Signing days for the 2019-2020 school-year are:

SPORTS
· Last chance to try out for Boys’ Soccer will be Monday – Wednesday, Nov. 4 – 6. Meet Coach Smith in Room 132 at 3:00 the first day. Bring your gear.
· Boys’ Indoor Volleyball Tryouts are happening soon: 11/4 from 3:30 – 5 pm at MBMS for all grades; 11/8 from 6 – 7:30 pm at El Segundo High for freshmen only; 11/13 and 11/14, 8 to 10 pm (New Time) at El Segundo for all grades.
CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
· Hello! Creative Writing Club is TODAY in Room 207. All writing levels welcome.
· Chess Club takes place on Thursdays (TODAY) at lunch in Room 14. If you are interested in playing chess, learning chess, or improving your skills, this is the club for you! All levels are welcome.
· Please join the South Bay Food Initiative at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank on Saturday, Nov. 2 to sort food from 9am to 12pm. No experience is necessary, and you can earn three hours of community service. For more information or to sign up, please visit www.southbayfoodinitiative.com. The deadline to sign up is tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 1.
· Come to the Support Our Students Club on Thursday (TODAY) at lunch in Room 234 to make cards/care packages for sick/injured Costa students!

· College Essays – If you’d like a CCC counselor to revise your personal statement or personal insight questions, bring a double-spaced copy to the CCC. Be sure to include your name, email, and the prompt to which you are responding.
· College Representative Visits in the CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign up to attend on NAVIANCE. Please bring your school ID.
