STUDENT INFO
· The very first Comedy Sportz Match of the year is this Friday at 7 pm in the Small Theater - $5 for a night of laughs!
· The first Club Day of the year will be on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 11:10! Make sure to bring money!
· Thailand 2020 Parent Meeting Part I will be held Oct. 8 at 6:00 pm in Room 234.
· Art Night is back for a third year! All students are invited to sell their artwork and crafts at the 3rd Annual Art Night. Sign up at CostaArtNight.weebly.com. There will also be food, music and arts and crafts for all to participate in. Art Night is on Friday, Oct. 25 from 5 to 7 pm in the quad outside Room 109. All students, faculty and staff are invited to bring friends and family for a fun evening of art!
CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
· Improv Club is TODAY in Room 1. Play some games and get information on our upcoming October match.
· Start spooky season off right and come on down to the first Noontime Theater of the year during AM Office Hours Wednesday in Room 1.
· Come to the Richstone Club on Wednesdays in Room 207. Richstone Club is a club dedicated to helping children that are from abusive households.
· Come Wednesday to Room 70 during lunch for the Living on One Club! New members always welcome.
· Mira Costa Gender Sexuality Alliance meets every Thursday at lunch in Room 23, Mr. Zeoli’s room. Meet a group of loving and supportive people, engage in activist work to help make campus a more accepting environment, and raise funds for various charities and organizations.
· Chess Club takes place on Thursdays at lunch in Room 14. If you are interested in playing chess, learning chess, or improving your skills, this is the club for you! All levels are welcome!
· Are you interested in computer programming or want a new extracurricular where you can learn and develop a very popular skill? Then the Competitive Coding Club is for you! All levels are welcome. Meetings are every Thursday during lunch in Room 116, Mr. Braskin’s room. Personal computers are recommended but not required.
· Please join the South Bay Food Initiative at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank on Saturday, Oct. 12 to sort food from 9 am to 12 pm. No experience is necessary, and you can earn 3 hours of community service. For more information or to sign up, please visit www.southbayfoodinitiative.com.
· H.E.A.R.T. Club meets every Fridayin Room 56. Come join our Skechers Team/Pier to Pier Walk.
FRESHMEN & NEW STUDENTS
· Office Hours Help: You must be signed into your student Aeries account via the app to electronically check into office hours. If you are having difficulty signing in, please come to the office during office hours. Remember, teachers can also sign you into Aeries in their classrooms.
· Attendance: For attendance and off-grounds passes, enter the main office through the gray door marked ATTENDANCE. To obtain an off-grounds pass, bring a note signed by your parent/guardian to the attendance office before school, during snack or at lunch. Teachers will not let you out of class and security will not let you off campus without the off-grounds pass.
· Drop Offs: Parents may drop off items for students on the table near the attendance office. Please enter through the gray door marked DROP OFF to pick up and/or drop off items. NOTE: The office is NOT responsible for anything left on the tables.
· Sports Gear: Sports gear may be left at the end of the hall in the admin office, past Dr. Dale’s room. Please make sure gear is not blocking the walkway.
· Lost something? Found something? The Attendance Office is also our Lost and Found area. Check there for missing items. If you lost your ID, see Mrs. Cessor in the Student Store/Finance Office.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

· College Essays – If you’d like a CCC counselor to revise your personal statement or personal insight questions, bring by a double-spaced copy to the CCC. Be sure to include your name, email, and the prompt to which you are responding.
· Personal Insight Question Workshop – Wednesday, October 2 at 5:30pm in the CCC
Come to a workshop led by a UCLA Bruin Ambassador about the Personal Insight Questions. Our presenter will be sharing tips about making the most of 350 words!
· College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign up to attend on NAVIANCE. Please bring your school ID.

Earn high school elective credits while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a variety of careers. Choose from classes related to Art & Design, Engineering & Design, Finance & Business, Health Sciences and Public & Consumer Services. Classes are free and transportation is provided for our 12:45pm and 3:45pm classes. Your SoCal ROC career guidance specialist will be on campus in the CCC Wednesdays during AM office hours to answer your questions.
