NEW! FRESHMEN & NEW STUDENTS
· Attendance: For attendance and off-grounds passes, enter the main office through the gray door marked ATTENDANCE. To obtain an off-grounds pass, bring a note signed by your parent/guardian to the attendance office before school, during snack or at lunch. Teachers will not let you out of class and security will not let you off campus without the off-grounds pass.
· Drop Offs: Parents may drop off items for students on the table near the attendance office. Please enter through the gray door marked DROP OFF to pick up and/or drop off items. NOTE: The office is NOT responsible for anything left on the tables.
· Sports Gear: Sports gear may be left at the end of the hall in the admin office, past Dr. Dale’s room. Please make sure gear is not blocking the walkway.
· Office Hours help: You must be signed into your student Aeries account via the app to electronically check into office hours. If you are having difficulty signing in, please come to the office during office hours. Remember, teachers can also sign you into Aeries in their classrooms.
· Lost something? Found something? The Attendance Office is also our Lost and Found area. Check there for missing items. If you lost your ID, see Mrs. Cessor in the Student Store/Finance Office.

· Attention Seniors: Don’t forget to submit your senior ads. Prices go up after September 31. Submission directions on mchshoofprints.weeb.y.com!
STUDENT INFO
· Greece/Italy Trip: If you are interested in this amazing trip, there is an informational parent meeting this Thursday, Sept. 26, at 6 pm in Mrs. Martinez-Sellan’s Room 73.
· Attention Students 16 or older! Do you like to vote? Are you pre-registered yet? If your answers were yes and no, then come on down to the Student Store on 9/25 during AM Office Hours! Join us and pre-register to vote!
· Did you miss the meeting on Budapest, Vienna, Munich, and Prague? Never fear! There’s another informational meeting Wednesday at lunch in Room 20. Hope to see you there!
· Thailand 2020 Spring Break: Meetings in Room 234 at lunch every TUESDAY in September (9/3, 9/10, 9/17, 9/24). Lots of info to share about this Amazing Adventure in community service.
· California Scholarship Federation Fall Membership Drive continues through Friday, Sept. 27. Come by Room 243 during the membership drive to get more information and pick up an application. You can also check the Costa website for more information. Keep up the good work, Costa!

· Want leadership roles? In need of volunteer hours? Join Leo Club on Mondays (TODAY) in Room 131 to learn about giving back and volunteering in our community! Free donuts will be provided!
· Come to Creative Writing Club on Friday in Room 207. All grades and levels welcome.
· Come to the most thrilling lunch of your life and join us in discussion at Political Debate Club on Mondays (TODAY) in Mr. Piper’s Room 203. Learn about current issues and become politically aware.
· Interested in veterinary studies? Just love animals? Come to Animal Outreach Club Mondays (TODAY) in Room 21 to learn about our upcoming volunteer/leadership opportunities and pending service trip in Aguascalientes, Mexico!
· H.E.A.R.T. Club meets every FRIDAY in Room 56. New events to share.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

· College Essays – If you’d like a CCC counselor to revise your personal statement or personal insight questions, bring by a double-spaced copy to the CCC. Be sure to include your name, email, and the prompt to which you are responding.
· MCHS College Knowledge Night – Wednesday, Sept. 25
Arrive early (5:45pm) to learn about different SAT/ACT test prep resources in our community (Auditorium Lobby). Next attend a brief overview of the event (6:15) in the Auditorium. You will then choose 2 breakout sessions to attend from the following topics: Financial Aid (Auditorium), Gap Year Options (Rm 14), Community College Pathways (Rm 15), How to Reduce Stress During the College Process (Rm 16), The College Road Map (College and Career Center), Personal Statement Strategies (Library).
· College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign up to attend on NAVIANCE. Please bring your school ID.

o Tuesday, 9/24 – Pepperdine University at 8:00am; Lehigh University at 9:00am; Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) at 10:23am and Info Table at 12:20pm(lunch); Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) at 11:25am; University of Colorado – Colorado Springs at 12:20pm; University of Oregon at 1:00pm; Rider University at 2:00pm.
· Revolution Prep is offering FREE practice SAT and ACT exams at Mira Costa High School
All exams are held at Mira Costa High School on Saturdays from 9am to 12:30pm. Rooms TBD. Choose SAT OR ACT. Both are offered on each date. Dates: Saturday – 9/28, 11/16, 3/7/2020, 5/2/2020. Price: FREE!

· SoCal ROC
Earn high school elective credits while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a variety of careers. Choose from classes related to Art & Design, Engineering & Design, Finance & Business, Health Sciences and Public & Consumer Services. Classes are free and transportation is provided for our 12:45pm and 3:45pm classes. Your SoCal ROC career guidance specialist will be on campus in the CCC Wednesdays during AM office hours to answer your questions.
