· The Final Date to pre-order a yearbook will be Thursday, May 16. After May 16, yearbooks (if available) will be sold for $125 cash after the distribution period has begun.
· Join the Creative Writing class at 7:30 pm TONIGHT at the Hermosa Beach Historical Museum for Beatnik Night! Get a taste of the Beat Generation! Influential poetry, turtlenecks, berets, and Jazz!
· The Mira Costa Surf Team is having an open tryout for all current Costa boys and girls Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors. The tryout will be Thursday, May 17 starting at 6:30 am at the 26th Street Lifeguard Tower in MB. You will be able to make it to your 1st period, and we could even start as early as 6:15 am if you have an AP final that morning. Tryouts will consist of competitive heats. No foam boards allowed. Hope to see you there.
· Submission deadline for the Neptunian Woman’s Club of MB 40th Annual Art and Photography Contest is 3:00 pm, this Friday, May 10. No class projects. A ceremony will be held in the Neptunian Clubhouse Sunday, May 19 at 1:00 pm for exhibiting student artists. Entry form with rules is online at www.neptunians.org/nwc-art-show.
· Independent Study Athletics (ISA) applications for the 2019-20 school year are on the Costa website under ATHLETICS. All applications are DUE on or before May 15, 2019. Late applications will not be accepted!
CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
· Please join the South Bay Food Initiative in supporting the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Please place your nutritious, nonperishable food donations in a bag and place it near your mailbox THIS Saturday. We will help the Post Office deliver the donated food to local Food Pantries. · Are you interested in our criminal justice system? Do you want to become a lawyer or build strong presentation and public speaking skills to show to colleges? Then the Mock Trial Club is right for you! Come to Room 23 during AM Office Hours for more information.

1. *BRING SCREEN SHOT OF - Updated Naviance college admissions results page. (Go to the College tab. For colleges that you did NOT end up applying to, mark as "withdrawn". For colleges that you applied to and did not get into, mark "denied". For colleges you applied to and got into, mark "accepted" Finally, indicate which school you are going to ATTEND at the bottom of the page)
2. *BRING COPY - Acceptance letter from the school you will be attending
3. COMPLETE THE SENIOR SURVEY (on Naviance, under the “About Me” tab)
This process will ensure that your final transcript will be sent to the school you plan to attend in the fall.
