STUDENT INFO
· To learn more about the two-year interdisciplinary AP Capstone program for next year’s focus on Social Justice, come to Mrs. Cabrera’s Room 45 on Wednesday 3/27 at lunch. More information and program applications are now available on Mrs. Cabrera’s faculty page of the school website. Applications are due May 3.
· Call for art! All students are invited to enter a piece into 9x12: The 19th Annual All Media Art Show. Work can be in any medium including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography and mixed media. See any art teacher or Mrs. Heredia in Room 62 for official entry form. The show will be held at Resin Gallery in Hermosa Beach on May 3, and prizes will be awarded in each category. Deadline to enter work is April 8.
· Attention Mustangs! Tickets for the Spring Dance go on sale TODAY at nutrition and lunch. Don’t forget to buy your tickets before prices go up!
· Dessert Theater! TONIGHT at 7 pm in the Small Theater, $7 at the door. Come watch a showcase of what Drama/Tech is bringing to the Fullerton Drama Festival this weekend. Many desserts included!
· Link Crew applications are due on Wednesday, 3/27 to Ms. Hutchinson in Room 20! Please make sure you have submitted all required parts/signatures by Wednesday to be considered. Thanks!
· This Friday in the Quad at lunch, ASB will host Class Wars for the month of March! Be sure to wear Aloha/Hawaiian shirts to school!
· Student Interest meetings begin TODAY at lunch. Please come if you are interested in joining ASB next year. You must attend at least one meeting!
· Wear Hawaiian shirts on Friday to support Boys’ Volleyball as they take on Loyola at 7 pm at the Redondo Gym. Come decked out in your best green and gold attire to cheer the boys on to victory!
· Submit your photos to La Vista’s annual photo contest! Categories include: People, Places and Things. Photos must be high quality and be submitted digitally to [email protected] by 4/9.
· Come to STEM Night on Tuesday, March 26 from 6 – 8 pm in the Mira Costa High School Cafeteria. There will be notable speakers from Engineering, BioTech, Cybersecurity, and Media/Entertainment industries as well as informative and interactive booths. The goal of this event is to enhance students’ and the local community’s understanding of STEM fields and opportunities, inspire career paths, and showcase Costa’s STEM offerings. All are welcome!
· Incoming Juniors and Seniors: Earn college credit with no AP exam. Honors Earth Science is the place to be. Four major fields of study are Astronomy, Oceanography, Meteorology and Geology. See Mr. Kurz in Room 238 or email [email protected] for more details.
· The Neptunian Woman’s Club is sponsoring its 40th Student Art and Photography Contest for grades K-5 (art) and 6-12 (art and photography). Deadline for submission to the school office is Friday, May 10, 2019 before 3:00 pm. An awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 19 at 1:00 pm in the Neptunian clubhouse, Manhattan Beach. · Attention Seniors: The list of CSF Life Members for 2019 is currently posted on the door of Room 243. Please check to see if your name is spelled correctly. If it is incorrect, please see me as soon as possible so I can correct it. If you think your name should be on the list and it is not, please come see me in Room 349. – Karen Cunningham, CSF

· South Bay Tech Trek Alumnae Group: Come listen to women in various professional STEM fields discuss their careers and pathways! Saturday, March 23 at Redondo Beach Library from 1 to 3 pm. Co-sponsored by AAUW, TTAG, and Redondo Beach Public Library.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
· Schedule a one-on-one appointment with one of our credentialed college counselors. Call 310-318-7337 ext. 5253 or email [email protected]. *Juniors – the Spring Semester is an ideal time to meet with a CCC Counselor.
· College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign-up to attend on NAVIANCE. Please bring your school ID.
