SAT 3/9 – MCHS Pride Day from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm
TUE 3/19 – Families Connected Speaker Series “Carving out Your Creativity,” presented by World Champion Skateboarder Rodney Mullen at the Hermosa Beach Community Center at 710 Pier Ave., HB from 6:30 – 8 pm.

Please take a minute to list students you recommend either on the physical form left in your box, or by using the digital form emailed to you. All recommendations are needed back in Maddie Hutchinson’s box by Friday, Mar. 8. THANK YOU for helping!

· Noontime Theater! Wednesday, 3/6 at PM Office Hours in the Drama Room 1. Come see scenes put on by all the Drama classes, all having to do with love.
· Comedy Sportz Match – We have an away match at Hawthorne High School on Mar. 6 at 5:30 pm. Come out and support!
· Improv Match – Senior citizens vs. students! Friday, 3/8 at 7:30 pm in the Small Theater at Costa!
· This week is Art Week! Come make art and learn about art electives during lunch. TODAY – Button making and Art 1-3 info in Room 62; Tuesday – AP Studio Art Info Session in Room 62; Wednesday – Screen printing (bring a blank t-shirt to make your own original Costa Art shirt) in Room 62 during Office Hours; Thursday – AP Art History Info Session in Room 109; Friday – Ceramics information and clay day in Room 107.
· The Neptunian Woman’s Club is sponsoring its 40th Student Art and Photography Contest for grades K-5 (art) and 6-12 (art and photography). Deadline for submission to the school office is Friday, May 10, 2019 before 3:00 pm. An awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 19 at 1:00 pm in the Neptunian clubhouse, Manhattan Beach. SENIORS
· If you ordered graduation announcements from Jostens, they are now ready for you to pick up at the ASB Finance Office in the Student Store during nutrition or lunch.
· This year’s senior class motto is, “The memories we’ve shared, the times we’ve had together, they will stay with us always – goodbye is not forever.” If that motto gets you in your feelings, you should definitely write a speech about it. Pick up a graduation speech application TODAY from Ms. Sieker in Room 44!
CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
· Come to Creative Writing Club TODAY at lunch in Room 46 to share your work and meet other inspired creative writers!
· Come to the Young Survival Coalition Club in Room 73 every other Monday, to help spread awareness about breast cancer!
· Attention All Mustangs: Young Republicans and Young Democrats will be debating environmental policy during AM Office Hours on March 27 in the Small Theater. We encourage all to see the event.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
· Schedule a one-on-one appointment with one of our credentialed college counselors. Call 310-318-7337 ext. 5253 or email [email protected]. *Juniors – the Spring Semester is an ideal time to meet with a CCC Counselor.
· College Representative Visits in the CCC – If visit is during class, please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign up to attend on NAVIANCE. Please bring your school ID.

· JUNIORS – Boeing Internship Opportunity Mira Costa High School Juniors have a unique opportunity to participate in a highly selective summer internship at Boeing. If you are interested in applying, it is mandatory that each student and a parent attend the information session on Tuesday, March 5 at 5:30pm in the CCC. It is required that you sign up on Naviance.
