· It’s that time of the year! The 2018 Lip Sync Contest is here! Calling all clubs, sports teams, groups and individuals: Show us your Lip Sync skills and win a chance at PRIZE MONEY. Show is Thursday November 15!
· The Grammy Award Winning Mira Costa Bands present the Homecoming Concert of the Marching Band and Colorguard – the final performance of our 2018 Field Show, The Pack! on Nov. 15 at 7 pm in Waller Stadium, featuring parade, pop and rousing school spirit music. We invite parents, alumni, staff, students and community members to join us for this special evening as we celebrate the end of the Marching Band season after returning home from MOBX Championships in Las Vegas.
· Come one, come all! Second and final week of performances of The Laramie Project. TODAY’s show is at 6:30 pm and Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 pm, all in the Small Theater. Students are $10 presale and $12 at the door.
· This week in the Art Gallery Room 60: a Pop-Up exhibit of fall artwork from the AP Studio Art Class. One week only. Don’t miss it!
· Techies: Join us for the MCHS 2018 Local Hack Day! This free mini-hackathon runs from 9 am to 9 pm on December 1, and allows you to bring an idea to life over 12 hours with a team! No experience necessary. Visit tinyurl.com/MCHSHack for more info.
· The Mira Costa Mustangs Varsity Football team beat Long Beach Wilson to advance to the second round of playoffs. They will rematch with South Hills High School at home this Friday night at 7 pm. Come cheer your Mustang Football team on to a victory! Remember to bring $5 cash since your ASB card does not cover CIF playoff tickets.
SENIORS

· Attention Seniors! Cap and gown, senior ring and grad item orders will be taken Friday, Nov. 16 from 8 am – 2 pm outside the CCC. See the Jostens rep there.
SPORTS
· Swimming Tryouts will be Thursday, Dec. 13. Warm ups start at 2 pm, tryouts will begin around 3 pm.
CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
· Are you interested in pursuing a career in medicine or community service hours? Come to the Medical Society Club on Thursdays (TODAY) at lunch in Room 19.
· Official Full Chapter Meeting of the National Honor Society (NHS) will take place in the MPR on Thursday, 11/15 at lunch. We will go over ISPs and committees and brainstorm chapter goals for the year.
· Come to Room 17 on Thursday (TODAY) at lunch if you are interested in joining the Teen Unification Club and brainstorming ways to help make a difference in another teen’s life by spreading care and positivity.
· Come join the Pink Ribbon Club TODAY at lunch in Room 331!
· FIDM Fashion Club meeting on Friday, Nov. 9 at lunch! Come to Room 109 for a safe space to express your passion for fashion!
· Come to Room 234 at lunch TODAY to make cards and care packages for sick/injured Costa students at the Support Our Students Club!
· Math Club meetings are held every Tuesday at lunch. Come to Room 131 if you want to improve your skills, learn new concepts, and compete against other mathletes. All levels of math are welcome!
· Mira Costa Gender Sexuality Alliance meets every Thursday (TODAY) at lunch in Room 23, Mr. Zeoli’s room. Meet a group of loving and supportive people, engage in activist work to help make campus a more accepting environment, and raise funds for various charities and organizations.
· Come to Room 111 during every AM office hours for some great EDM music live mixed and spun by Costa’s own EDM Club. Bring your own ear plugs.

· College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign-up to attend on NAVIANCE. Please bring your school ID.

· SENIORS – Visit the CCC for College Application Assistance:
o College Personal Statement Revision – Please bring in a hard-copy of your essay if you would like feedback from one of the counselors. Typically essays are completed within 2-3 business days.
o Walk-in Wednesdays for help with applications, essay revisions and to have your questions answered! No appointment necessary. Walk-In Hours are on Wednesdays, from 3PM to 5PM.

· SoCal Roc is now enrolling for its 9-week courses: Adobe Suite (After Effects, Animate, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Business Entrepreneur, and ITCC-Welding. Classes begin Nov. 13. Sign up in the CCC to speak with a SCROC counselor.
