STUDENT INFO
· Mira Costa High School will be holding a school-wide November 2018 Mock Election on Friday, Nov. 2 during homeroom. Students will be able to vote on their phones, laptops, or iPads. Everyone please vote and let your voices be heard!
· The MCHS Drama/Tech Department presents our fall play, The Laramie Project. Opening night is Friday, November 2 in the small theater at 7:30 pm.
SENIORS
· Attention all Seniors! Come to Room 41 TODAY at lunch to vote on the color of the caps and gowns for graduation.
SPORTS
· Boys’ Indoor Volleyball Tryouts will take place on the following dates in Fisher Gym: Wednesday, Nov. 7 from 2:30 – 4:30 pm; Monday, Nov. 12 from 1 – 3 pm; Friday, Nov. 16 from 2:30 – 4:30 pm.
· The final Basketball Tryout for all levels will be held TONIGHT from 5 to 7 pm in the Mira Costa Basketball Gym. This tryout is only for athletes who competed in fall sports or did not previously try out.
CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
· Come get some Ping Pong rallies Friday at lunch in the Gym for the Pong Club!
· Do you enjoy the soothing sounds of the ukulele? Come to Room 72 at lunch on Monday 11/5 for the Ukulele Club! Bring your uke and play, or listen and hang out!
· Mira Costa Gender Sexuality Alliance meets every Thursday (TODAY) at lunch in Room 23, Mr. Zeoli’s room. Meet a group of loving and supportive people, engage in activist work to help make campus a more accepting environment, and raise funds for various charities and organizations.

· College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign-up to attend on NAVIANCE. Please bring your school ID.

· SENIORS – Visit the CCC for College Application Assistance:
o College Personal Statement Revision – Please bring in a hard-copy of your essay if you would like feedback from one of the counselors. Typically essays are completed within 2-3 business days.
o Walk-in Wednesdays for help with applications, essay revisions and to have your questions answered! No appointment necessary. Walk-In Hours are on Wednesdays, from 3PM to 5PM.

· SoCal Roc is now enrolling for its 9-week courses: Adobe Suite (After Effects, Animate, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Business Entrepreneur, and ITCC-Welding. Classes begin Nov. 13. Sign up in the CCC and speak with a SCROC counselor.
