STUDENT INFO
· The fall California Scholarship Federation (CSF) Membership Drive will begin on Monday, Sept. 17 and will end on Friday, Sept. 28. Membership is open to 10th, 11th and 12th grade students who are eligible, based on their excellent grades received in June. To find out if you are eligible, come to Room 243 during the membership drive at snack, lunch or PM Office Hours for more information. Sorry freshmen, you will be eligible for associate membership in February.
· We have a few Prom 2018 Photos at the front desk in the Office. If you did not receive your pictures, come by to pick them up! Tell your graduated friends, as well.
· Come see the first art show of the year. AP Studio Art presents “Mom and Dad Liked It.” The show is open TODAY through Sept. 21 in the Gallery, Room 60.
CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
· Interested in becoming a staff member on Mira Costa’s Literary Magazine, PaperCut? Come join us in Room 207 Mondays at lunch!
· 663 million people in the world live without clean water. Come to Charity Water Club on Mondays in Room 102 to change this. First meeting is on 9/17. There will be cookies!
· Interested in Women Empowerment? Join S Club every Monday in Room 16 for easy community service hours and a key way to spice up college resumes!
· Come to room 21 during lunch Thursday to become a part of the Disaster Relief Club. We will be discussing volunteer opportunities for the upcoming semester and voting to fill the cabinet chairs.
· Returning NHS members: There will be a brief informational meeting in the MPR on 9/20 to address procedural changes and new requirements for the club enacted this year.
· Math Club meetings are held every Tuesday at lunch. Come to Room 131 if you want to improve your skills, learn new concepts, and compete against other mathletes! All levels of math are welcome.
· Chemistry Club: Are you interested in science and do you want to participate in science extracurricular activities? Well, this is the club for you! Stop by Room 342 at lunch TODAY!

· College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign-up to attend on NAVIANCE. Please bring your school ID.

· SENIORS – Visit the CCC for College Application Assistance:
o College Personal Statement Revision – Please bring in a hard-copy of your essay if you would like feedback from one of the counselors. Typically essays are completed within 2-3 business days.
o Walk-in Wednesdays for help with applications, essay revisions and to have your questions answered! No appointment necessary. Walk-In Hours are on Wednesdays, from 3PM to 5PM.

· Testing
o Revolution Prep is offering a FREE full-length SAT and ACT practice on campus Saturday, 9/29/2018
Time: SAT – 9am to 1:15pm, ACT – 9am to 1pm; SAT – Room 14 and ACT – Room 16
Essay: Optional (students not staying for the essay will be dismissed about 45 minutes earlier)
Bring: Calculator, #2 pencils, snack, water and a cell phone (The students will download a phone app and score their tests on site)
