FRI 6/8 – Senior Finals (periods 1 & 2); Senior Meeting &Continental Breakfast at 10:05 am at Waller Stadium; MCHS Choirs Spring Concert – Sing a Mighty Song! at 7 pm in the Auditorium; Seniors – text books and obligations due to the Library TODAY.

 


STUDENT INFO

·         PHYSICAL FITNESS MAKE-UP TESTING – Last call! Date: Tuesday, June 12. Time: 12:45 – 2:00 pm. Where: Foyer of the Gym.

·         Attention Students: The Yearbooks are here. Books will be distributed by grade according to the below schedule. Please line up at the Student Store with your MCHS ID Card to receive your yearbook. 

§  TODAY, June 4th:  12:20-1:00pm  Senior – Pickup Only

§  TODAY, June 4th:  2:00-3:30pm  Junior/Senior – Pickup,  *Senior Purchase

§  Tuesday, June 5th:  12:20-1:00pm  Soph/Junior/Senior – Pickup,  *Junior/Senior Purchase

§  Tuesday, June 5th:  2:00-3:30pm  All Grades – Pickup,  *Soph/Junior/Senior Purchase

Those who did not pre-order a yearbook may purchase with $125 CASH ONLY (while supplies last) during the distribution period FOLLOWING their initial grade level distribution. Please check the Final Distribution List (see Website) and do not line up during the initial pickup period if your name is not listed. Any questions should be referred to Donna Cessor. 

·         Mira Costa Choirs’ Concert is this Friday, June 8, at 7 pm in the Auditorium. Come hear our six choirs “Sing a Mighty Song!” Students are free!

·         AP Studio Art students for next year: There is a mandatory meeting Wednesday, June 6 at lunch in Room 62. We will be going over the required summer assignments.

·         Reflections – The Literary Magazine of MCHS is here! Come to Room 207 to get a compilation of student poetry/prose/photography and art. Only $2!

·         Time to start returning books! The last day for Seniors to return items is this Friday, June 8.  The last day to return for all other students is the last day of Finals, June 14. If you're no longer using your book and want to avoid the long lines, go ahead and check it in at the Library now. You can also take care of any lost or damaged items. Don't wait until the last minute! After May 31, cash only will be accepted. If you plan to write a check for a fine, take care of it before next Thursday. SENIORS, make sure all obligations are cleared in the library by June 8 so you can walk at graduation.

·         Submit your entry for the 2018 – 2019 Mira Costa Student Planner Cover Design Contest to Mrs. Heredia in Art Room 62 by TODAY! See the website for more information and entry rules. Enter as many pieces as you like. Designs will be displayed and voted upon by faculty and students. Students with the three winning designs will receive prizes, compliments of the Student Store! Get creative!

SENIORS

·         Seniors are invited to TODAY’s lunch rehearsal for the vocal performance of the Alma Mater at Graduation. Join us in Room 2, the Choir Room!

·         Congratulations, Seniors! Your ice cream Sunday party will be on Tuesday, June 5 for winning the Class Wars Games!

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

·         COLLEGE APPLICATION 101 SERIES IN THE CCC – Sign up on Naviance.

o   Tuesday, 6/5 at 5:30pm – International College Options  Join admission representatives from several International universities to learn more about attending college abroad.

This series will be most helpful for juniors and their parents, however all grade levels are welcome to attend!

·         College Visits (Please clear with your teacher if during class time.)

o    Wednesday, 6/6 – The El Camino College Counselor will be in the CCC from 10am – 1pm. Come to the CCC to schedule your appointment.

·         Schedule a one-on-one appointment with one of our credentialed college counselors. Call 310-318-7337 ext. 5253 or email [email protected].

·         SoCal Roc is now enrolling for an El Camino Summer Bridge course (classes begin July 9) and the Fall 2018 semester (classes beginning September 10). Come to the CCC to sign up and learn more about the Summer Bridge course and the classes we offer.
