STUDENT INFO
· Next year’s Link Leaders: Please report to the Gym at 7:55am tomorrow (Wednesday) for May Development Day! Please be on time and dress comfortably. Looking forward to seeing you all then!
· Dodgeball Tournament sign-ups start TODAY and end 5/18 in the ASB Room 40 at lunch. The tournament starts May 21. Teams need to be 6 players + 1 alternate.
· The Counseling Department will be accepting ANY course request changes now through May 24. Come see or email your counselor. After May 24 there will be NO changes to student requests. Just before Registration (8/15 – 8/16), class schedules will be released to your student MBUSDapps.org Gmail accounts.
· Prom 2018 “Bright Lights, Big City” will be held June 2, 2018 at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles. Purchase your tickets now at the Student Store or purchase a ticket voucher at the ASB Web Store https://mchswebstore.myschoolcentral.com. For details and pricing see the Prom Forms which must be completed for purchase:

· Independent Study Athletics (ISA) REMINDER – Applications for the 2018-19 school year are DUE on or before May 16! The application is on the school’s website under ATHLETICS!
· This Friday, May 18 is Art Night, an evening of arts and crafts. All students are welcome to attend, and sell their artwork or crafts. Activities include button making, T-shirt screen printing and face painting. Friends and family are also invited. The event will take place at Mira Costa outside Room 109 from 5-7 pm. · Costa Pride Day is coming up! Need Volunteer hours? Want to help beautify Costa? We need lots of volunteers for Costa Pride Day on Saturday, May 19. We have plants to plant and clean up and beautification that need your help to transform our campus! Show your Mustang Pride by coming to help make Costa campus look great! Meet at the Cafeteria on May 19 at 9:30 to receive instructions. Pride Day runs from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm. Please contact Laurel Ulrich with questions: [email protected].
CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
· The El Camino Counselor will be in the CCC on Wednesday, May 16 for appointments (9:50am-1:30pm). Please come to the CCC to sign-up.
· JUNIOR PARENTS: Are you interested in learning more about making a college list? Your students have all heard this information before, but the CCC wants to ensure that families also understand the benefits of creating a comprehensive college list. Join us in the CCC on Thursday, May 17 at 6pm to learn more!
· SENIORS: *Important* All graduating seniors are required to complete the Senior Clearance process by submitting their post-high school plans. Please complete the following steps and BRING COPIES OF ALL THREE DOCUMENTS to the CCC by this Friday, May 18:
—If you are planning to enter a 4-year or Community College:
1. Updated Naviance college admissions results page. (Go to the College tab. For colleges that you did NOT end up applying to, mark as “withdrawn.” For colleges that you applied to and did not get into, mark “denied.” For colleges you applied to and got into, mark “accepted.” Finally, indicate which school you are going to attend at the bottom of the page.
2. Completed senior survey (on Naviance, under the “About Me” tab)
3. Acceptance letter from the school you will be attending. This process will ensure that your final transcript will be sent to the school you plan to attend in the fall.

1. Stop in the CCC to let us know your plans.
· SoCal Roc is now enrolling for an El Camino Summer Bridge course (classes begin July 9) and the Fall 2018 semester (classes beginning September 10). Come to the CCC to sign up and learn more about the Summer Bridge course and the classes we offer.
