STUDENT INFO

·      The Art of Conversation and the Importance of Listening is this week’s topic for the student-run speaker series, MAKE IT COUNT, this Wednesday during PM Office Hours in the Small Theater. Get the most out of a conversation. Get the answers you need. Contribute to the objective. Everyone likes to talk…but do you listen?

·      Find out how you can be part of the Mustang Morning News staff. Come to our informational meeting Friday at lunch in Room 108 or apply online at www.mustangmorningnews.com/join-the-staff.

·      Living One Club: Interested in joining a new club that focuses on helping families in poor regions of Latin America? Come to a screening on Wednesday during AM office hours in Room 70 to see the documentary that started it all!

·      Attention all students: Club Day is this Wednesday, Mar. 7! Don’t forget to bring money.

SPORTS

·      Signups for Costa’s Futsal Tournament start TODAY! Make a team of five (four players with one alternate) and come to the ASB room with $10/team by Wednesday, Mar. 7!

CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

·      1 Room in Lunch at Tuesdays. Club Improv to come! (Read backwards.)

·      Come to Drama Club every Wednesday during lunch in Room 1 for important announcements on everything Drama/Tech!

·      Attention all students: Club Day is this Wednesday, Mar. 7! Don’t forget to bring money.

·      Last call for Costa’s literary magazine, Reflections: Submit your photography/prose/poetry/etc. to [email protected] for a chance to be a published artist this May!

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

·      Junior Girls

American Legion Girls State is among the most respected and selective educational programs of government instruction for U.S. high-school students. It is a participatory program in which students become part of the operation of local, county and state government. If selected, students attend the week-long program at Claremont College beginning on June 25. Please come to the CCC for application instructions. Applications must be turned in to the CCC by March 12.

·      College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign up to attend on NAVIANCE.

o   Wednesday, 3/7 – El Camino College – The El Camino Counselor will be in the CCC on Wednesdays from 9:30am-1:00 pm to go over your Ed Plan and to answer questions. Please sign-up for your appointment in the CCC.

o   Thursday, 3/8 “Where Be The Dragons,Study Abroad/Gap Year Programs at 12:20pm (lunch).

·      Summer Programs:

o   UCLA SUMMER SESSIONS 2018 – UCLA’s Summer Program offers high school students an opportunity to engage in challenging academics while earning college credit.  For more information visit: summer.ucla.edu or call 310-825-4101. Registration is open now.

·      SoCalRoc: SoCalRoc is now enrolling for its 9-week courses: Adobe Suite, Business Entrepreneur, and Banking & Financial Services. Classes begin April 9. Natalie Hansen, the SoCalRoc counselor, is available in the CCC every Monday from 8:30am-10:30am. Please sign-up in the CCC to meet with her.
