STUDENT INFO
· Costachella needs your talent! On March 21, during AM Office Hours in the Mustang Mall, students are invited to enjoy musical acts, student art, and treats. If you’re interested in being one of the bands to take the main stage, please email video submissions to [email protected] by February 28. For information on band requirements and the audition process, come by the Costachella booth during lunch in the Mustang Mall from February 13-15. Keep an eye open for flyers with QR codes that will take you to specific information as well.
· Calling all artists! Costachella wants to feature your work! We are interested in all forms of appropriate, musical festival inspired art to use as decorations during Costachella. If you’re interested in showcasing your art, please email photos of your work to [email protected].
· All students are invited to participate in a WEEK OF ART EVENTS:
Costa Art Week Schedule:
o TODAY 2/14: Screen Printing. Bring your own shirt, all other materials provided (room 62 during office hours)
o Thursday 2/15: AP Info Session, Art History (room 109 at lunch); Movie Night – Screening Loving Vincent (room 109 at 5pm)
o Friday 2/16: Group Painting. All materials provided (room 109 at lunch)
o All Week 2/12 – 2/16: BSU Art Show in room 60 at lunch
· H.E.A.R.T. Club and ASB welcome all students to participate in RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS WEEK:
o TODAY 2/14: Donate Supplies to Teachers. Bring donations to class: Kleenex, pencils, paper, ink, etc., and attend Black History Month Assembly.
o Thursday 2/15: Letter Writing to Children. We will deliver letters to Children at Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach today & tomorrow. Send your letters of good wishes to the main office.
o Friday 2/16: Shelter Donations. Bring donations for men, women & children to the main office. Look for large bins today. We will deliver to two local shelters.
· Everyone join us for ARTS WEEK!

o TODAY 2/14: Valentines Scenes in Room 1 at AM Office Hours; Val-grams throughout the day in your classes
o Thursday 2/15: Coterie and Muscle in Room 2 at lunch.
o Friday 2/16: AP Music Theory Info Session in Room 51 at lunch.
· Wanna fall in love? Well, we can’t really help with that, but we CAN show you some Valentine’s Day scenes TODAY in Room 1 during AM Office Hours.
CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS
· Due to Ski Week, Club Council has been moved to Feb. 27 after break – not on Feb. 20 as stated on the Club Council dates listing.
· Come to Drama Club in Room 1 every Wednesday (TODAY) during lunch to learn about new and exciting things happening in the Drama/Tech Department.
· Interested in getting volunteer hours? Come to Room 248 at lunch TODAY to learn about the Samburu Project’s Walk for Water!
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
· PSAT SCORES – If you took the PSAT in October, your detailed score sheets and test booklets are now available in the CCC for pick-up.
· College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign up to attend on NAVIANCE.

· SoCalRoc: SoCalRoc is now enrolling for its 9-week courses: Adobe Suite, Business Entrepreneur, and Banking & Financial Services. Classes begin April 9. Natalie Hansen, the SoCalRoc counselor, is available in the CCC every Monday from 8:30am-10:30am. Please sign-up in the CCC to meet with her.
· FREE SAT/ACT PRACTICE TEST Revolution Prep is offering a FREE full-length practice ACT and SAT at Mira Costa High School on Saturday, March 3rd at 9am-1pm - choose either ACT or SAT. To register go to: https://www.revolutionprep.com/partners/practice-exams/school/61/. Bring: pencils, calculator, water and a snack. Questions – Call Jean Stroud at 818-217-0951. You will receive a very detailed score report and a free optional score report review.
