SENIORS
· Seniors, if you missed turning in your cap, gown and graduation announcement orders, you have three options now before the price goes up – Deadline Dec. 18: 1) Order online at Jostens.com; 2) phone orders to 1-800-Jostens; 3) mail orders to Jostens, PO Box 1725, Camarillo, CA 93011.
FACULTY
· Attention Staff, Students and Clubs! Adopt-A-Family items are due TODAY and cans are due Wednesday. Please send them to Mrs. Claypoole’s Room 40/41 during 2nd through 5th periods.
STUDENT INFO
· The Costa Girls’ Water Polo team will be hosting a Jolyn Trunk Sale at the pool deck on Saturday, Dec. 16 from 11 am – 2 pm. A large variety of suits and accessories will be available to try and purchase, and all payment forms are welcome. This event is open to the public, so please invite your friends. A portion of the sales will be donated to the team. Any questions, contact Celeste Gebhardt at 310-546-4508.
· The Mira Costa History Project is looking for someone who knows how to use Adobe In Design and would be interested in either teaching some people how to use it or joining the History Project. See Mr. Currier in Room 222 at snack or lunch if you know how to use “In Design” software.
· Catch some basketball this week! Frosh/Soph, JV and Varsity Boys play TODAY, 12/12 and this Friday, 12/15 in Fisher Gym! Come cheer our teams on!
· Link Crew presents the first annual pre-finals Pajama Day! We are all stressed out about finals, so let’s come together and wear our PJ’s on Monday, Dec. 18 to enjoy a comfy and relaxing day. Everyone involved on Costa’s campus is invited to join in on the fun!

· What are your misperceptions? Advanced Cinema students find out with their video installations in a new Mira Costa Art Gallery Show, “Behind Closed Doors,” on display this week at lunch in Room 60.
SPORTS
· Girls’ Softball will be holding one final tryout for anyone interested! Meet at the varsity field on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 3 pm. Email [email protected] with any questions.
CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS
· Come to Jewish Cultural Club TODAY in Mr. Fauver’s Room 200, and join us in playing dreidel to celebrate the start of Hanukkah!
· Whatever happened to surviving winter, or staring down the rain, or simply enjoying a weekend away from the city? We can’t promise the comforts of home, but if you want a real adventure, join Adventure Club Thursdays in Mr. Robertson’s Room 333.
· Come to Support Our Students this Thursday in Room 234 to help chronically ill or injured Mira Costa students.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
· SENIORS
o Essay Review If you’d like your college application essay revised before winter break, be sure to turn it in to the CCC before Dec.15!
o Scholarship Notebook Program The scholarship notebook is a personal profile that will be read by members of community scholarship committees. Each scholarship committee creates their own criteria for selection and carefully screens the applicants to find the appropriate candidates for their scholarships. To be eligible to participate in the program students must attend ONE of the following four information meetings held in the CCC during lunch: Tuesday, Jan. 9, Thursday, Jan. 11, Thursday, Jan. 18, and Monday, Jan. 22. Sign up on Naviance prior to the meeting.
· College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign-up to attend on NAVIANCE.

· The CCC is hosting sessions to review A-G Requirements, the high school timeline and summer opportunities. Please visit our CCC Calendar, (MCHS Website→College Tab →CCC Calendar→Click on the date you’d like to attend) and sign up. Each session is limited to 25 seats, and only a limited number of sessions will be held!
· Summer Programs
LMU will be partnering with Girls Who Code to host two Campus courses this summer: Website Design & Development (July 9 – July 20), and Wearable Tech & Fashion Design (July 23 – August 3). An Information meeting will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017 from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm PST on the LMU Campus. For more information and to register go to:

· SoCalRoc: SoCal Roc is now enrolling for the Spring 2018 semester. Classes begin January 29. The SoCalRoc Counselor is available in the CCC every Monday from 8:30 – 10:30 am. Please sign up in the CCC to meet with her or drop in for more information about SoCalRoc class offerings.
