STUDENT INFO

·      Independent Study Athletic (ISA) Students: REMINDER! First Semester Activity Logs AND Coach/Teacher Evaluations are due on or before Dec. 20!

·      Help Comedy Sportz give our Adopt-A-Family the best holiday season! When you come to the Comedy Sportz match TONIGHT in the small theater at 7 pm, you can either pay $5 or bring in three cans of nonperishable food. All proceeds go to our Adopt-A-Family!

·      Do you like live music? Come see classical guitarist Felix Kellaway play with the MBMS Madrigal Singers and Joel Ruben tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 9 at 7 pm in the Mira Costa Theater. Tickets are $20 at the Mira Costa website (click here) or at benefit.mbrotary.org. Your donations will go to the Sandy Casey Scholarship Fund in memory of Sandy Casey.

·      Please submit your Poetry Out Loud applications to Ms. Sieker in Room 44 by Thursday, Dec. 21. The contest will be held in the small theatre on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 7pm. While the judges tabulate, there will be a community open mic where any person in the audience can share a poem—we hope you can join us for this night of live poetry!

CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

·      Interested in helping lead the conservative movement on the Mira Costa Campus? Do you want to get speakers like Dinesh D’Souza to come to speak to our school and community? Join YAF on Thursdays in Mr. Geczi’s Room 225. Be a leader.

·      Attention all clubs: If you have not turned in our club paperwork, it must be turned in by TODAY if you want to be considered a club on campus.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

·      College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign-up to attend on NAVIANCE.

·      The CCC is hosting sessions to review A-G Requirements, the high school timeline and summer opportunities. Please visit our CCC Calendar, (MCHS WebsiteCollege Tab CCC CalendarClick on the date you’d like to attend) and sign up. Each session is limited to 25 seats, and only a limited number of sessions will be held!

·      Summer Programs

LMU will be partnering with Girls Who Code to host two Campus courses this summer: Website Design & Development (July 9 – July 20), and Wearable Tech & Fashion Design (July 23 – August 3). An Information meeting will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2017 from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm PST on the LMU Campus. For more information and to register go to:

·      SoCalRoc: SoCal Roc is now enrolling for the Spring 2018 semester. Classes begin January 29. The SoCalRoc Counselor is available in the CCC every Monday from 8:30 – 10:30 am. Please sign up in the CCC to meet with her or drop in for more information about SoCalRoc class offerings.
