FACULTY
· Attention Teachers of Seniors: During 2nd period on Wednesday, 10/18 while you are under your desks for the Great Shake-out, please have your senior students vote for one boy and one girl for Homecoming King & Queen. The ballots will be distributed during 1st period. Again, voting will be for Seniors only on Wednesday, October 18 during 2nd period.

· Congratulations to the Marching Band and Colorguard for a great show at their first competition of the season. At the Royal Classic this Saturday, a tournament with over 30 competitors, your Mustangs were named the Grand Champion Sweepstakes winner for having the best performance on the Tournament! The last chance to see their show “Outside the Bachs” here on campus will be in three weeks at halftime during the Redondo Game. Don’t miss it!

· It’s time for the annual PTSA Reflections Art Contest. Contest rules and forms are in the Admin Office or on-line under the News Section on Mira Costa’s home page. · NEED COMMUNITY SERVICE? The folks on Skid Row desperately need hygiene kits. Two hygiene kits equal 1 hour of community service. Please include shampoo, soap or body wash, toothpaste, toothbrush, comb or brush, deodorant, disposable razor, sealed in a gallon Ziploc bag. Our next Lunches with Love delivery is Sunday, Oct. 22. · Latino Scholars Union: TODAY’s meeting will be held in the College & Career Center!
· Going to Improv Club every Tuesday (TODAY) during lunch in Room 1 is like using herbs in your food. It’s a fun thyme!
· Come to Drama Club every Wednesday during lunch in Room 1 for announcements on new and exciting things happening in the Drama/Tech department.
· Cyber Security: Cyber Patriot training is TODAY, Oct. 17 from 3 – 5 pm in Mrs. Weaver’s Room 112.

· SoCal Roc is now enrolling for its 2nd quarter 9 week classes: Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.), Banking and Financial Services, and Business Entrepreneur. Classes begin November 6. Come to the CCC to sign up to speak with a SoCal Roc counselor and learn more about the interactive Career Technical classes that we offer.
· Local Events – Pepperdine Preview on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017. Classroom visits, student affairs panel, campus tour, Celebration Chapel, and an application workshop will provide you with an in-depth look at Seaver College and the Malibu campus.
