STUDENT INFO
· Hey Everybody! Come out for Ferris Bueller’s Day Off TONIGHT at 7 pm in the Mustang Mall! Movie is free; bring money for candy and popcorn!
· Discover South Africa over spring break 2018: Last chance to sign up for this life-changing adventure. Email [email protected] or come to Room 232 on Wednesday, 9/27 during lunch or PM office hours to receive details and to reserve a spot. Limited spots are available. Deadline to sign up is Oct. 2.
· Attention Juniors and Seniors: Do you want to earn meaningful community service hours to boost that college application? Come to the library to learn how to serve as a tutor helping other students with subjects in which you excel. The work is easy, fun, and rewarding, and you can pile up those service hours! Stop by the library Monday through Thursday from 3 to 5 pm and speak to either Mr. McAvin or Mr. Zeoli for more information. We really need you!
· NEED COMMUNITY SERVICE? Our next Lunches with Love delivery is Sunday, Sept. 24. We are known for delivering bagged lunches in the past but have been notified by Skid Row officials that they desperately need hygiene kits. Therefore we are ONLY collecting bagged hygiene kits (shampoo, soap or body wash, toothpaste, toothbrush, comb or brush, deodorant, disposable razor, bottle of water all sealed in a gallon Ziploc bag). For more info visit us at http://luncheswithlovemb.my-free.website/ and like us on facebook https://www.facebook.com/luncheswithlovemb.
· Costapalooza! Homecoming! Friday, Oct. 20, at lunch. Know of a great student band? Let us know! This year, Costapalooza will feature one student band on the quad during lunch. To be considered, email the name of your band, your members, contact information and a sample of your music to Ed McKeegan ([email protected]) no later than Friday, September 22. Team Costa reps will vote on the band to perform. Bands must have a minimum of three musicians. At least one member must be a current Costa student. Bands can bring their own equipment/set up, or we’ll provide it.
CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS
· Math Club is the only club that counts. Come to Room 131 on Tuesdays during lunch.
· Love Science? Come to Science Olympiad! The team’s first meeting is TODAY in Mr. Locke’s Room 352.
· Come to Drama Club every Wednesday (TODAY) during lunch in Room 1 for announcements and reminders on what’s happening in the Drama/Tech department.
· Come to GALS (Girls Advancing Leadership in STEM) Club this Friday, 9/22. Our goal is to help both younger kids and ourselves learn and become involved in the STEM field. We meet every other Friday at lunch in Ms. Hearn’s Room 350. We’d love to see you there, and everyone is welcome!
