FACULTY
· Attention Junior and Senior teachers, homecoming court voting will occur next Wednesday 9/20 during your 2nd period.

STUDENT INFO
· Lost your ID already? Before Monday, 9/18, notify Mrs. Cessor in the Student Store. She will let you know when you can pick up your new ID. (Note: You do not need to retake your photo.)
· If you ordered your ASB marker before or during registration but did not receive it, please notify Mrs. Cessor in the student store before Monday, 9/18.
· Make-Up Picture Day is Monday, 9/18 in the Auditorium. Photo IDs will be available for students who never received one.
· Students who have excused periods (other than zero period): Off-grounds stickers are available TODAY and tomorrow in the main office at snack or lunch ONLY. You MUST show your current school ID to get a sticker!
· Attention students! Next Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 7 pm in the Mustang Mall is Viral Video and Movie Night. Come watch Ferris Bueller’s Day Off!
· Green & Gold Day is this Friday! Join your classmates for fun and games on the mound!
· NEED COMMUNITY SERVICE? Our next Lunches with Love delivery is Sunday, Sept. 24. We are known for delivering bagged lunches in the past but have been notified by Skid Row officials that they desperately need hygiene kits. Therefore we are ONLY collecting bagged hygiene kits (shampoo, soap or body wash, toothpaste, toothbrush, comb or brush, deodorant, disposable razor, bottle of water all sealed in a gallon Ziploc bag). · Costapalooza! Homecoming! Friday, Oct. 20, at lunch. Know of a great student band? Let us know! This year, Costapalooza will feature one student band on the Quad during lunch. To be considered, email the name of your band, your members, contact information and a sample of your music to Ed McKeegan ([email protected]) no later than Friday, Sept. 15. Team Costa reps will vote on the band to perform. Bands must have a minimum of three musicians. At least one member must be a current Costa student. Bands can bring their own equipment/set up, or we’ll provide it for you.
SENIORS
· Attention Seniors: Class of 2018 shirts have arrived. The senior class officers will be carting them around TODAY and tomorrow.
CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS
· Want a reaction? Come check out Chemistry Club every Friday in Room 342 at lunch.
· Come to Political Debate Club in Mr. Piper’s Room 203 on Mondays at lunch to discuss and debate current events in America and around the world.
· Do you stand for freedom of expression, meritocracy, and common sense? Join the Young Republicans Club, one of the largest clubs on campus! We meet every Tuesday in Room 207.
· Want to help publish a literary magazine full of Costa poetry and photography? Come to Reflections in Room 207 on Mondays at lunch!
· Ping Pong Club meets every Friday (tomorrow) at lunch in the Fisher Gym. Come and play some Ping Pongs!
· Come to the Pacific Islanders Club every Wednesdays in room 47 at lunch to learn more about the culture of the Pacific Islands, enjoy fun activities, and food. You do not have to be Pacific Islander to join. All are welcome!
· Like soccer? Interested in helping refugees in Chad? Come to the first Mustangs4change meeting this Friday at lunch in Room 248 to learn about how you can help!
· Come to Girls Only Coding Club in Room 116 at lunch on Friday! Don’t know how to code? Come learn!
· Come to GALS (Girls Advancing Leadership in STEM) Club next Friday, 9/22. Our goal is to help both younger kids and ourselves learn and become involved in the STEM field. We meet every other Friday at lunch in Ms. Hearn’s Room 350. We’d love to see you there, and everyone is welcome!
· First Pink Ribbon Club meeting of the year TODAY, Sept. 14 in Room 78 at lunch with Ms. Guerrero.
· Come to Club Harmony at lunch on Thursday (TODAY) in Room 207 to learn how to promote social inclusiveness!
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
· *Save the Date*-MCHS College Knowledge Night will be held on Wednesday, September 27. Multi-College Panel discussion begins in the auditorium at 6:00 pm.
· JUNIORS AND SOPHOMORES - REGISTER ONLINE NOW! Avoid Late Fees – Register by Sept. 17
The test will begin at 7:00am on October 11 at MCHS. To register online, please go the MCHS website and click on the “PSAT” icon OR the “Store” tab and select ASB Webstore.
In-person registration by check (made out to MCHS) will be available September 13, 14, and 15 in the CCC.
Registration cost is $25. Your final opportunity for LATE registration will be September 18th and 19th online or in person during lunch in the CCC. Late registration cost is $35. After you register online, bring your receipt to the CCC to pick-up your PSAT Study Guide. Please contact the CCC with any questions.
· SENIORS – CCC will hold Common App-Naviance matching workshops on the following times/dates. No sign up necessary.
o Lunch Workshops: Sept. 18, 22, 25, 28, October 3, 10 and 24
o 6th Period Workshops: TODAY Sept. 14, 15, October 5, and 12.
· College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign-up to attend on NAVIANCE.
