STUDENT INFO
· Students, get your Stampede Shirt TODAY for $10 at the Student Store! You can also get last year’s stampede shirt on clearance for $5!
· Hey, everybody! Wear your Stampede Shirt this Friday 9/1 to join your fellow students on the mound at lunch for fun and games.
· Improv Club: The laugh heard around the world will be here every Tuesday (TODAY) at lunch in the Drama Room 1.
· Audition & Crew applications are now available for Mira Costa Drama/Tech’s fall season. Come by the Shop (Building W) or the Auditorium to pick one up. They are due Sept. 1.
· Westerberg’s students from last year: Please pick up your portfolios from last year by the end of the week. They will be recycled next Monday if not picked up. Thanks!
· Students: Check your books NOW and report any damages (missing pages, water damage, writing, etc…) within 2 weeks to avoid being held responsible. You must come to the Library to report any damages. According to the new school-wide policy, this year you MUST have your physical Student ID with you to check out any library or textbook materials.
· Attention all Freshmen interested in ASB! This Thursday, 8/31 and Friday, 9/1 there is an intro session in Room 41. In order to run for ASB, you are required to attend one of the two meetings.
· Interested in playing Freshman Football? It is not too late! See Coach Currier in Room 222 at snack, lunch, or the practice field at 2:30 pm.
· The Freshman Football Team has an opening for a Team Manager and Director of Filming Operations. Come see Coach Currier in Room 222 at snack or lunch, or email him at [email protected].
CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS
· Come to Latino Scholars Union every Tuesday (TODAY) at lunch in Room 73 (Mrs. Martinez) to be a part of the Latino Community while enjoying some snacks. Everyone is welcome!
· All Club leaders: Start organizing your clubs and prepare to pick up club forms on August 31, 2017 from ASB.
· Come to Drama Club at lunch every Wednesday in Room 1 for announcements on new, exciting things happening in the Drama/Tech department.
SENIORS
· Seniors! Senior shirts are running low, so get them while you can! Senior shirts will be sold for $10 on TODAY on the mound! Make checks out to MCHS.
SPORTS
· Girls’ Basketball tryouts will be Wednesday, 8/30 from 5 to 8 pm at MBMS. Any student or parent with questions, contact Coach Lapham at [email protected].
· Boys’ Basketball tryouts will be held from 5:30 to 7:00 at Manhattan Beach Middle School TODAY and Thursday, Aug. 31. If you are a junior or senior interested in trying out, please contact coach Amaral directly at [email protected].
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
· JUNIORS AND SOPHOMORES - PSAT REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN ONLINE
The test will begin at 7:00am on October 11 at MCHS. To register online, please go the MCHS website and click on the “PSAT” icon OR the “Store” tab and select ASB Webstore.
In-person registration will be available September 13, 14, and 15 in the CCC.
Registration cost is $25. Your final opportunity for LATE registration will be September 18th and 19th online or in person during lunch in the CCC. Late registration cost is $35. After you register online, bring your receipt to the CCC to pick-up your PSAT Study Guide. Please contact the CCC with any questions.
· So Cal Roc will present an information session on Thursday, August 31 during lunch (12:20pm) in the CCC.
· College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend.
This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign-up to attend on NAVIANCE.
