· MB PARKS & REC TO OFFER FILMMAKING CLASS FOR KIDS Registration is now open for an 8-week Filmmaking class through Manhattan Beach’s Parks and Recreation. Classes will be held Wednesday afternoons and are for children ages 7-13. For more information click here or visit www.CityMB.info/Registration.
· New semester-long ART electives for next year! Come to Room 109 during AM office hours this week to learn more. The classes are: 3D Fabrication/Surfboard Shaping, Painting, Printmaking, and Museum Studies. If you can’t attend, see your art teacher for more information.
· Don’t forget to come to TEDx this Wednesday during PM Office Hours!
· If you are interested in joining National Honor Society next year, please come to Room 45 for a brief informational meeting during lunch TODAY, 3/28, Wednesday, 3/29, or Thursday, 3/30.
· Community Service Opportunity: Come log some hours helping out at the Grand View Fair on Sunday, April 30 from 11 am – 3 pm at Grand View Elementary. We need volunteers to look after kids in the bouncies, on the obstacle course and to help in the arts and crafts booth. · Applications for the 2017-2018 National Honor Society are now available on the school website. If you have specific questions about the application or process, please see Mrs. Cabrera in Room 45.
SPORTS
· MIRA COSTA BOYS LACROSSE takes on a strong cross-town rival, Peninsula, at home tomorrow, Wednesday, March 29. They would love as many fans as possible in the bleachers! JV game kicks off at 5 pm followed by Varsity at 7:30 pm! The amazing “Ta Bom” food truck will also be at the game serving up super delicious Brazilian food including their famous banana Nutella dessert! Come hungry & cheer loudly for the LAX boys. They so appreciate your support!
SENIORS
· The Annual Senior Field Photo will take place on April 5 during PM Office Hours. Please meet on the field at the beginning of Office Hours – this will only take 20 minutes if everyone is there on time! Congrats, Seniors!
CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS
· Interested in CyberSecurity? Want to learn how to defend against hackers, design networks, and compete nationally? Come check out CyberPatriot Club Friday, March 31 at lunch in Ms. Weaver’s Room 111. Training opportunity for new and returning members scheduled Friday, March 31 from 4-6 pm in the math and science building room (241). Teams for 2017-18 season will be finalized in June, so don’t wait until fall or you’ll miss out!
· Come to Club Harmony on Tuesday (TODAY) at lunch in Room 207 to learn about students of different religions and backgrounds!
· Money can’t buy happiness, but I would rather cry in a Bentley. Come to Investors’ Club TODAY in Room 225 to hear a guest speaker talk about portfolio management and the private sector.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
· Visits in the CCC: Please sign-up on Naviance. If visit is during class time, please get permission from your teacher.

o Weds., Mar. 29 – Stress Reduction Workshop at 12:26pm (PM Office Hours). Join us in the CCC for a relaxation session with guided meditations and breathing exercises as well as Gio (the therapy dog).
· Career Speaker Series: Professionals in various industries will visit the CCC to speak about their careers and the path they took to get there. This is a great opportunity to learn about different careers and the steps you need to take to gain opportunities for internships and to learn about your future dream job. Please sign up on Naviance or in the CCC. All grade levels are welcome! Watch the bulletin for additional speakers.

· El Camino Counseling Appointments – A counselor from El Camino College will be in the CCC on Wednesday afternoons. If you are planning on attending El Camino in the fall, sign up for your appointment in the CCC.
· SoCal Roc is now enrolling for its 9-week courses. Classes begin Monday, April 10. Sign up now to speak with a SCROC advisor and pick up an application in the Career Center.
· Featured Program – West Coast Sports Medicine Summer Mentoring Camps For students interested in sports medicine or any aspect of the medical field. This is an opportunity to learn and expand your knowledge of sports medicine and explore the medical field. Two sessions will be offered in the MCHS Cafeteria: Camp 1 (2-day camp)- Saturday, July 15 (9:00am-5:00pm) and Sunday, July 16 (9:00am-3:00pm); Camp 2 (2-day camp)-Saturday, July 22 (9:00am-5:00pm) and Sunday, July 23 (9:00am-3:00pm).
